It adds an 8-10 hour bit of side story, more characters, costumes, items, and more to the game. The more times you play through the game (since you get to pick one house per playthrough), the more benefit you'll get from the DLC.

In short: Yes.

walmart listed game + dlc for $24.99, sent everyone only dlc codes (we all knew this would happen), then walmart refunded everyone and said sorry and to keep your dlc codes.

but $17.49 is good price for those that don't have it, just saying that walmart one was a great slickdeal!

Yes. I have no desire to do it over in an otaku world.

Didn't think the dlc would go on sale. First time for everything.
I already bought and played through it at full price. It's still kind of expensive but the standalone campaign is a good challenge.

I only care about the story related content so the rest of the DLC isn't worth anything to me so the price is a bit high

Fire Emblem fans might want to check out an indie game called Dark Deity which was released yesterday for PC. It's directly inspired (knock-off?) of the Game Boy Advance Fire Emblem games:

Graphically on the overworld map and battle sequences it looks like a GBA game (I'm fine with 2D but frankly I could do without the overly pixelated look) but the the menus, character portraits, conversation screens, and story sequences all look modern. I'm only 30 mins in and completed the first battle and have a good first impression.

Did you enjoy the basic game content of playing a terribly cringey high school anime sim?
How to tell me you have never played Fire Emblem Three Houses without saying it.

Once again reminded that Nintendo keeps up the terrible practice of not letting you buy things from the eShop for later use if you don't have a Switch yet.

I need to go back to this game. I put over 100 hours into just the 1st path alone plus the dlc. Need to do the other story paths.
Same. This will definitely help. I have been watching the price on this & this is the 1st time it's ever been on sale in the eShop. I actually stopped short of finishing the game the 1st time, I'm in the final few chapters on the path with the female class leader (darn, it's been so long, i can't even remember the names, lol. I think it starts with an E?). This will definitely encourage me to go back & finish it & play through again. I stopped because i had no plans of playing through it again & didn't want it to end, lol. I guess not remembering the names is a good indicator that i would enjoy a 2nd playthru, but as everyone does these days, i have such a huge backlog.

TL;DR: Me too!!!

Really? I never knew this. I kind of expected that from all the previous generations of their consoles & handhelds, but this generation, you would think they would have that ability. I mean, they get your money, so if you don't ever get the console to play it, it's still money in their pockets. Very strange they don't allow this in 2021.
