Not a budget thing here, I prefer wired over wireless.

I won't buy a wireless keyboard or mouse (unless using for a TV or something). For my desk, I prefer the wired versions.

I use the G502 Proteus Spectrum, which is the older version of this model. The mouse took about a month to adjust to, but after nearly 3 years of having it, the mouse hasn't failed yet. If this translates at all to this model, I think it's worth trying it out.

I've been using the same Model for awhile too, but I've heard and read that the Hero has double clicking issues more often than ours.

No doubt, in part why, I mentioned being awhile ago, still at $40 the deal is lukewarm at best, they've been in the low $30's. In the past couple months.

I sincerely loved my G502, but the middle click failed after about 6 months of use, I've gotten old and set in my ways, I can't just *not* use my middle click button to open links on a new tab, so I had to retire it

Why retire it? Logitech has good warranty in my experience.

They have sent me replacement and most times haven't required me to send the broken item back..

Probably because I'm a moron who didn't even think about that. I just saw the "return period closed" on my orders tab and completely forgot warranties were a thing. I really am getting old and dumb.
