8gb on M1 is different than 8gb on an intel either Mac or windows. For the software optimized for the M1 chip it'll handle it like a champ.

I didn't look it up but other comments make it seem like it's cheaper here and you can still buy the airpods separate and it's a better deal than the edu deal

$1200 through Apple and the free Airpods sell for $100 right now. This is $1050 through Best Buy's student deals, so it's $50 cheaper if you still buy the Airpods on sale.

That being said, everyone please make sure to do research on the few slight differences between the M1 Pro and M1 Air to determine if you think it's worth the extra $150 since the M1 Air is $900 through Apple (and you still get the Airpods). The Air is completely fine for the majority.

Also, since the RAM is unified with the M1 it performs a hell of a lot better than 8 GB on a PC.

Damn, this is good deal for the pro, especially if you don't care about AirPods. And you can buy the AirPod pro from Costco for like $160. But I just bought the MacBook Air for $900 and paid $90 for AirPod pro with the apple gift card I got from target with about 10% back in target gift card, which is still very good deal.

But if you want the pro, this is the deal to get!

Pretty good IMO. I picked one of these up around this price open box earlier this year, tho it only had 2 power cycles on on it so it was practically new, Tho I would've waited for this deal just to have it brand new.
