This one is from 2020 with the M1. The new model in the Apple for Education store is $1199 and comes with a $150 Apple GC. The new model has the new M2 processor inside. Good, or bad, if you consider the Apple GC something you'd otherwise use (I do) the prices are close. I don't honestly know how different the machines perform, but if you are considering this one, you may want to consider that one too.

M2 is NOT worth it, the slower ssd impacts the performance a lot. At least the Air has a new design, MBP13M2 shouldn't even exist

Oh yeah, it overheats with a "fan". So, pointless fan, slow ssd, dumbass touchbar, what else am I missing?

Is slower SSD on the pro 256gb? I thought it was just on Air 256 (but not 512)?

I believe iFixIt opened one of these up and notice that it looks almost identical to the M2 MacBook pro. Meaning they literally slapped on a m2 processor and slower SSD drive in and called it brand new MacBook pro....at least for the 13inch pros
