Yes, you can if you call their customer service line they can convert it for you. The downside is you won't get the $200 sign up bonus :-(

I changed cards online:

I just called. Only option is to open a new card

If you login to your account, there's a menu option that allows you to switch or swap credit cards. You won't get the sign-up bonus though.

Yes. (Thanks dyn2nvu.) More details: Log in to Wells Fargo online, go to Accounts, Manage Cards, Credit Card Service Center, Switch My Card. Pretty awesome, just a few clicks. Keeps same number, etc, but yes will lose one-time bonus.

According to CapitalOne, Transunion did the pull and Equifax did not (they only request from these two). Chase does Experian and they did not indicate a pull.
11-20-2021 at 02:32 PM
It's possibly Transunion but you can confirm with the bank before doing it.
12-09-2021 at 04:44 PM
mine was experian
01-26-2022 at 02:01 PM
Ditto with Stevefinucane ... Experian.
02-11-2023 at 04:57 PM
Transunion - I had to temporarily lift a credit freeze.

I'm not sure. I have not received my card and all the literature .
11-15-2021 at 10:20 AM
This credit card can be used online but you won't be able to use it until you receive the physical card
12-21-2021 at 01:17 PM
You can add this to your digital wallet / GPay, Samsung Pay, Pypl etc.

Wells Fargo hasn't announced how long the offer will run. End date TBD. These are known as limited time offers for a good reason.
10-29-2021 at 08:14 PM
It is available now.
05-19-2022 at 06:42 AM
My banker said it's available through June 30th, 2022.

Depends on how much foreign trips you take and charge the card. Capital One Quick Silver has no foreign transaction fee where as Wells Fargo Active Cash has 3%.
01-11-2022 at 02:54 PM
I'd look at the Citi Double Cash card for one specific reason. The Wells Card only lets you redeem your cash back in $25 allotments.

You may have the option in Online Banking to convert it to this, but may lose any bonuses versus applying for a new card. If you apply for a new card, after you get it and activate, Wells Fargo should be able to move most or all of the available credit line on the old card and add to the new card credit line, then close the old one out. This will help with your credit rating as having a card with a higher credit limit shows you to have a lower overall debt to credit ratio.

These things are very unlikely to happen again. WF got hit with tons of fees and penalties and invested hefty in their risk compliance departments This whole thing sent a shockwave across the industry that also benefited banks' employees. Tellers don't need to aggressively cross sell bank product anymore.
Good all-rounder for those looking for a generalist card and better than Apple Card for merchants who don't take Apple Pay (there are a sizable bunch). Points are awarded monthly and with a $25 minimum for statement credit or check back (Direct Deposit isn't possible unless you have a bank account with them). Wells Fargo's latest pay with points option (I think inspired by Chase Pay Yourself Back) can get around this threshold - redemption is 1 cent to 1 point and points balance must cover the entire amount (no partial offsets). Cell Phone Protection is a good plus, few cards offer a higher rewards rate on top of this perk.

Another thing - Wells Fargo act funny if you pay too many times a month online (I think over 3 payments blocks you from making online payments for the rest of the statement period), but you can always pay over the automated phone system if you exceed this limit.
FNBO also has a 2% cash back Visa with a pre-qualification link. Might be helpful for those who don't have perfect credit and are unsure if they'll get approved. It even tells you the credit limit they'll pre-qualify you for. I got approved yesterday; it'll be my highest limit card so far.

I hear you, BUT it wasn't just the top brass that was in on it, it included a lot of the employees... up and down the entire chain... and that is why the 3billion in fines is nothing compared to the ongoing issues they will have in regaining the trust of their clients or any future client...

I'm out...

Saw this offer pop up in the news and was waiting for it to go live. Good deal with extra perks is a win for my bank account!

Yep, Wells Fargo has definitely had negative things going on in the past. However, if you stopped dealing with every company who had negative/media issues I'm not sure who you would be working with at this point?

We have had unlimited 2% on everything in market for too long. Who is going to be first to offer unlimited 3% on everything?!

It's all just a dog and pony show. American regulators have no power or interest in being heavy handed given the possibility of a revolving door when they leave government sector. Just look at the backboneless SEC and Elon Musk saga.

Well, Alliant has a 2.5% cash back on everything which is getting close (no annual fee).

"In order to qualify for the Tier One (2.5%), credit union members must have an Alliant checking account, sign up for electronic statements, maintain a $1000 average balance in the checking account, and receive at least one electronic deposit per month."
kills it

Clever String 959 forgot to mention that very important deal breaker information.
