These things are very unlikely to happen again. WF got hit with tons of fees and penalties and invested hefty in their risk compliance departments This whole thing sent a shockwave across the industry that also benefited banks' employees. Tellers don't need to aggressively cross sell bank product anymore.
Good all-rounder for those looking for a generalist card and better than Apple Card for merchants who don't take Apple Pay (there are a sizable bunch). Points are awarded monthly and with a $25 minimum for statement credit or check back (Direct Deposit isn't possible unless you have a bank account with them). Wells Fargo's latest pay with points option (I think inspired by Chase Pay Yourself Back) can get around this threshold - redemption is 1 cent to 1 point and points balance must cover the entire amount (no partial offsets). Cell Phone Protection is a good plus, few cards offer a higher rewards rate on top of this perk.
Another thing - Wells Fargo act funny if you pay too many times a month online (I think over 3 payments blocks you from making online payments for the rest of the statement period), but you can always pay over the automated phone system if you exceed this limit.
FNBO also has a 2% cash back Visa with a pre-qualification link. Might be helpful for those who don't have perfect credit and are unsure if they'll get approved. It even tells you the credit limit they'll pre-qualify you for. I got approved yesterday; it'll be my highest limit card so far.
Update. My $ 200 bonus just came in. I have had the Propel about 3 years.

Does that mean because I have a Propel card, I won't get the bonus? Been waiting for it. Spent $ 2000 so far. Would have gone for Citi instead. That's not right.
This is how I normally use my cards:
Propel - Food related (Dine In, Take Out, Delivery), Travel (Gas, Hotel, Flight, Uber, Cruise), Spotify (all of these are 3% cash back)
Paypal Mastercard - everything else
I will replace Paypal Mastercard with this WF Visa, and transfer the points from Propel to Visa card so I could use it for flight booking which worth 1.5. Therefore, the 3% I got from Propel is technically really worth 4.5%.
Thanks! I didn't know the above categories yielded 3%.
I'm trying to look for a 1-2 card solution so I don't have to carry 5 cards to maximize my category spends with chase.
Is there any 3% across the board card on all purchases? I see 2% with this wells fargo and citi has one but no one has a 3or higher% on Every purchase.
I have had this alliant card, but they recently killed the 2.5%. I believe I now only receive the 2.5% on the first 10k. After that is 1.5%
I just signed up the wells Fargo card. Citi just screwed me on a late fee. And I just closed it this morning.
Well, honestly you're a bit out of my league -- I don't spend more than $120,000 on credit cards a year so I wouldn't hit the 10k max.

I haven't found a cc which gives 3% cashback across the board so far. If you have one, please let me know...
I didn't want to make it more complicated in my early explanation, but I actually also do the followings:
Bank of America cash - Online only (3% up to 2500 per quarter)
Freedom and Discover - to use the 5% rotation as well (I normally use them with Apple Pay)
Applied last night for wife and myself, instantly approved with pretty generous credit limits. This is our first Wells Fargo product. Will see if it becomes our everyday credit card with 2% CB.
Yes, it was and still is $10,000 per month ($120,000/year). You're mistaken.
I received a letter from allient informing me of changes to the cash back program. Basically adding a bunch of hoops to maintain the 2% return.
That was several month ago and ( I think) the new qualifications kick in, in October or November.
One of them was to maintain a checking/savings account with several thousand in it.
I am only now checking into the requirements, and if anything is indeed changing. I have been looking for a reason to drop alliant credit union. There service has been.... Ok ish? But I would rather move to a cash back card with another main stream lender.
I also see value in a card that can offer theft, warranty protection. Travel protection... And so on.
Back before credit card companies got greedy, Citi set a pretty high bar. There double cash back offered all kinds of goodies, including a "price guarantee" thing that I used to it's full extent.
When the high interest savings account (remember the 2-4% days for savings accounts?) died , so did the credit card perks.

Right on there site, to meet the "Tie 1" qualifications seems like a far stretch. Sounds like you need a FULL YEAR of service before you can even get to the 2.5%
I was not a "New Member" so I would assume this is why I have maintained the 2.5% up until now.

Thanks also noticed Propel card is NO LONGER taking apps oh man. Now I gotta stick with either Paypal or Citi for 2% everywhere.

From what I understand it was per year, not per month. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please
