These things are very unlikely to happen again. WF got hit with tons of fees and penalties and invested hefty in their risk compliance departments This whole thing sent a shockwave across the industry that also benefited banks' employees. Tellers don't need to aggressively cross sell bank product anymore.

Good all-rounder for those looking for a generalist card and better than Apple Card for merchants who don't take Apple Pay (there are a sizable bunch). Points are awarded monthly and with a $25 minimum for statement credit or check back (Direct Deposit isn't possible unless you have a bank account with them). Wells Fargo's latest pay with points option (I think inspired by Chase Pay Yourself Back) can get around this threshold - redemption is 1 cent to 1 point and points balance must cover the entire amount (no partial offsets). Cell Phone Protection is a good plus, few cards offer a higher rewards rate on top of this perk.

Another thing - Wells Fargo act funny if you pay too many times a month online (I think over 3 payments blocks you from making online payments for the rest of the statement period), but you can always pay over the automated phone system if you exceed this limit.

FNBO also has a 2% cash back Visa with a pre-qualification link. Might be helpful for those who don't have perfect credit and are unsure if they'll get approved. It even tells you the credit limit they'll pre-qualify you for. I got approved yesterday; it'll be my highest limit card so far.

I doubt they are gonna pull any stunts or scams especially with Fed and Liz Warren on their sight.

My new card arrived today. I called WF to disable the cash advance of the card. Surprising I was told they can't do that! OK, then set the cash advance limit to $100 from $3,200. Nope, they can't change the cash advance limit! WTF, Wells Fargo? You can't disable a feature or even make a change of a feature? Also, does anybody know how to set up my Chase checking account as a payment option on their portal?

DP: I was looking for 2% Cashback card for anything non bonus categories. I evaluated almost all 2% and ended up applying for Fidelity with $150 SUB. DP: CreditKarma Scores in 760s, no bad remarks, 1 CP in 12 months. Already had 401k and brokerage account at Fido. I was immediately approved with $20k limit, says I'll receive card in 6 days.

Once I get this in the mail, I'll probably cancel my WF Cash Wise card. I always forget to go on the app and "activate" any of the deals anyway. This makes it simple.

I'm an existing Wells Fargo customer. My mortgage is currently with them, and I had a credit card with them until relatively recently that was closed due to inactivity, so I have some history with them. I applied for this card last night and upon approval it was automatically linked to my existing Wells Fargo online account. There may be other methods, but from within the credit card account I have the option in both the mobile app, and on their website, to add payment accounts under Make Payment. Unless I misunderstood what they were saying, I've seen complaints in this thread of people having to complete paperwork etc. via mail in order to link accounts, but that doesn't seem to be the case for me.

I would avoid anything Wells Fargo. They will give you a hard time getting your money back if for some reason you get fraud charges on your account/card.
