I'm having the complete opposite results as you. On my Samsung A71, I get better service with Tello than with Mint. And the speeds I'm getting with Mint are horrible. The T-Mobile tower I connect to is less than a mile away, and for some reason with Mint I can only get on Band 12 (4G LTE), while Tello connects to Band 71 (5G) each time. I switched to Mint by recommendations on here, and that was a huge mistake. I'm waiting for my 3 months to expire and I'm switching. Tello is still a lot slow than normal T-Mobile speeds, around 3 - 5Mb, but not 0.25Mb download speeds like I'm getting with Mint.

And before anyone chimes in, I've tried all 3 APN's and none of them made any difference.

Approximately. Based on previous stacksocial tello threads, you have 30 days to redeem the code from stacksocial on tello, and then another ~30 day grace period after the sim is mailed to actually activate your service.

I'm already on T-Mobile's network. Really wish I could get a deal like this for an MVNO on one of the other two as a backup for when I hit a dead zone. This is why the Sprint deal shouldn't have been allowed - reduced competition = reduced choice = fewer deals.

Do they issue a new number for no additional charge?
Can I port in my number 2 months after I activate with new number they issue?
I am thinking of try port in to Visible 2 months deal and port in to Tello. Can it be possible?

If I need to port in my existing number to tello, should I order this plan/Sim and then start the transfer once I receive the sim card?

I had Tello about 3 months ago.
Comparing it to other T-Mobile network like Mint and others, Tello constantly missed calls.

My iPhone 7 Plus had 2 bars and LTE all the time when I had Tello but when I used my mom's iPhone 7Pluse that also had Tello SIM card in it, I couldn't make the call go thro. My iPhone 7 Plus just didn't ring at all. The call from my mom's iPhone 7 Plus went directly into voice mail. This is very very annoying. I missed 2 important phone calls bcuz of this. I'd suggest you all to not use Tello as your primary phone number.

I now put Mint's 3 months SIM cards into my iPhone 7+ and my mom's, Mint mobile does not have the same problem that I had with Tello. And I know they are all on T-Mobile network.
I have also same experience. It was amazing when tello was with sprint. Not sure how to fix? I have an iPhone XR.

The money is in the data upsells. All these bargain deals for prepaid TracFone give plenty of talk and text but cost a fortune to add data.

You shut off data on the phone and use wifi only but there will be a time you do need it. And its usually $10/1gb or something

Amazing deal. Repped.

I may just switch from my Hello Mobile $5/mo plan for this plan with double the data for less than $1 more per month.
How is your experience at Hello if you care about data?

Yes, it switches to paying monthly and you can downgrade to a cheaper plan if you don't need unlimited minutes. Also, if you used a referral when creating the Tello account, you can use your Tello Dollars to pay for month 13.

I was with T-Mobile a few years ago and had the same problem with calls to my phone landing on voicemail directly. My wife's phone was also on tmobile plan at that time but never had a problem with calls. I worked with their customer service for months but there was no real fix....so i moved on. So the calls issue is a known issue with T-Mobile network (also their mvno) and only seem to affect a small group.

edit: the calls issue has nothing to do with the phone. I tried the service with multiple phones before giving up. I was also a T-Mobile customer for more than 10 years and the service was perfect during the earlier years. I noticed issues after their network re banding or restructuring whatever it's called (2016 - 2017 timeframe).

Already on tello, otherwise I would be all over this.
One small issue. On my Google Pixel 4a, my call logs don't update unless I restart the phone. Really weird issue

Question on redeeming coupon.

Purchased but would like to start 1-year on 7/17 (when my RedPocket plan expires). It hasn't asked for shipping address so I suppose I first need to redeem the coupon in order to receive the SIM.

Here's my question. If I redeem coupon today, does the 1-yr clock start (even if I don't have the SIM)? Can you walk me through the activation process and indicate when the 1-yr starts?
