19 pages, it must have been answered, but i checked my citi Thankyou points
Conversion rate to cash back or statement credit is 1 TYP to .5 cent, so 8000 points is $400
Also no costco or amazon gift card shown. I see bestbuy as the one i would use most
What card do you have?

Premier and Custom Cash can redeem for 1cpp. I got $800 direct deposit into my bank account for this bonus.

Preferred and Rewards+ are 0.5cpp. I guess you are referring to cards like this or a different low redemption card.

If you have multiple cards you can pool then together and get the higher rate.

I apologize for misinformation. As other mentioned, I have a different card, so my conversion rate is lower.

It's not crazy to pay a partial car down payment with a credit card right?

As long as you can pay it off without interest it's crazy not to, since you'd otherwise be forgoing rewards by using cash or a check or something.

You can redeem for cash, but the redemption formula is terrible. The 80k in points will redeem for only $400 in cash. Your best value is to redeem for $800 in gift cards.
Thanks for clarifying, I apprecaite your response and repped ya.
I wish there was an option for statement credit like Chase does but it's not good with this card.

I have 800+ score and only have 2 new cards in last 24 months. AND I GOT DENIED

Reason: Based on our algorithm, you have low usage of credit vs available credit... i.e. me paying off my bills every month is a bad thing.....

To make it worse, it showed up as a hard pull on my credit history, even when a card is not issued.

CITI does not want people who don't pay them late fees or interests.

DON'T BOTHER APPLYING, if you manage your finances well.

I was hesitant to apply after reading reports of denial due to low credit utilization. Mine is 0.7% utilization (never carry a balance) & 1 new card in the past 24 mos (7 in total)

Took a chance and was approved.

I have this card and the Chase one and I can confirm you can get a statement credit on a 1:1 basis through the Thankyou portal, similar to how Chase does it.

I got this card a month ago, hit the $4k requriement in the first month and got the 80K points and was able to redeem them for an $800 statement credit which is as good as cash.

Seeing a lot of different answers in this thread and can confirm its a 1:1 from points to cents so this deal is worth a minimum of $800 guaranteed. The airline points aren't worth it because im seeing too many issues with travel right now.

According to this article you can:

https://onemileatatime.com/deals/...emier-80k/

"Citi's general application rules apply, and on top of that the welcome bonus isn't available if you've:

Received a new cardmember bonus on the Citi Rewards+, Citi ThankYou Preferred, Citi Premier, or Citi Prestige, in the past 24 months
Closed the Citi Rewards+, Citi ThankYou Preferred, Citi Premier, or Citi Prestige, in the past 24 months"
Does Costco cashback fall into any above?

Will Citi still approve you if you had a past hiccup with them before?
