I belong to Costco Citi card. dont have a problem with credit. They refused me because they dont want people that pay there card off every month or people that spend alot on CC
Wow, surprised I got declined. 800+ score, only other Citi card I have is the double cash back which I've had for some years now. Last time I signed up for any card was in February and only 3 cards within the last 2.5 years.
Edit: Called the number and the robot told me it was from having too many national accounts open and too recent since opening one. Seems weird since I tend to only do 1 credit card a year for bonuses. My wife got the card with no issue a couple months ago and we alternate signing up for stuff. Maybe its the $45k credit limit I already have?
So can anyone confirm whether 80,000 points = $800 or $400. Thanks
Yes, 80k points will only get $400 cash. Worth more if you redeem for gift cards.
I had this card a few years ago, and I used to redeem for gift cards because 80k points will get $800 in gift cards (which I think worth about $700-$750 in cash).
They have a bunch of stores such as Home Depot, Lowes, Apple, Target, Marshalls, Sears, etc.

Thanks. Can you pay of your mortgage at 1 to 1 conversion or that is also $400 for the loan payment
Yes, you can redeemed for mortgage or student loans, the value of a ThankYou point is
one cent per point. So 80k points = $800 if you do a mortgage or student loan redemption.
Haven't opened a citi card in many years. Recently opened a Chase card.

Rumor has it Citi will officially add American as point transfer partner (on trial now), that would make it the only major reward system that can directly transfer to American nowadays. So if you live in an American hub city and has churned both AA credit cards, this might be the way to do it, albeit you can still use other methods booking AA like UR/MR to BA Avios
It does ask if you are Citizen or Permanent resident. Asks for nationality if you select 'No'.
But it doesn't matter. Got approved despite being non citizen. You do need SSN though.
For anyone planning a Disney trip in the future, I want to point out that you can redeem Citi's TY Rewards for park tickets.
It's not advertised on Citi's site, but if you use Citi's third-party travel agency, you do have to option to redeem Thank You Points for Disney Tickets. This all needs to be done over the phone.
