What's the difference between this and the Lavazza "Espresso Italiano" Costco version?

I don't think the roast date is written on the package at Costco.
Well if that's the case then I guess it's a crap shoot. It's been a long time since I bought a big bag of beans at costco so I couldn't remember.

I am staring at the lavAzza bag of coffee from Costco and there is a date right below the bar code. While it doesn't explicitly says 'use before, or similar', it sure appears to be just that.

On the bag, it reads:

OP says original price $69.99. Lol had to check it out! (Typo, should he 19.99) nice deal anyway, repped.
It is all about your taste. There are so much variations that u will need to choose what kind of flavors or roast you like. What I do is keep trying different kinds the problem is over 2lbs is so much so u are pretty much stuck on coffee u might not like but anyway I keep doing that I found some good coffee I like and wanna find more

How are they taste wise?
I haven't cracked them yet as I have some grocery store bulk coffee I want to finish first. It's hopefully decent, but it is half the price of the lavazza super crema which I like very much, so my expectations aren't super high.

Regardless of price, how is this compared to the super crema?

This coffee is trash. It tastes like watered down reused grounds. I've tried every level on my burr grinder and half the bag is just sitting there in my cupboard and will be until I remember to throw it away . I should probably go do that now actually. If you like the weakest of the weak coffee this is for you. If you love generic flavor and the word "complex" makes you uncomfortable... this is the coffee for you... if you see no problem buying store brand coffee .... this probably isn't for you honestly because even that garbage has a more robust presence in your mouth than this.

I learned there fake Lavazza 2.2 Lbs out there. I don't think you can get a fake lavazza bag from 'Sold by Amazon' but you never know...

This is one of the poorest quality Lavazza's. You can get a much better variety for not a lot more money. Lots of deals come and go all the time.

Not a very intense coffee. If you like a stronger cup, there's a more full flavored, 5 star rated Lavazza here:

If you're making milk-based espresso drinks (latte, cappuccino, etc.) then this doesn't really cut through. As far as I can tell, "hints of chocolate" is code for "not particularly punchy". I tend to alternate between Super Crema and Crema e Aroma. Right now, you can get 2x1kg Crema e Aroma for $25 from Amazon seller "Italy Best Coffee". I've ordered from them a lot and never had problems. Free shipping, but it will take a couple of days extra compared to Prime (ground shipping from Long Island, so the closer you are...).

However, if you're making straight espresso and don't want a big hit, then this may work. I would imagine it makes for a smooth drip coffee as well.
