However, there is a high chance that the $999.99 price is simply a place holder and will probably increase when it will actually be available. The reason is that I have checked all the Acer AMD products and this version as well as the lower end model SFX14-41G-R75Q, with Ryzen 7 5700U and GTX 1650 Max-Q is also having a price of $999.99 which had made me think that these prices are just some place holder price and will change when the laptops will be available.
Check the below link for SFX14-41G-R75Q and SFX14-41G-R1S6

Note: Display brightness is around 300-320 nits. This is the panel which they're using in 2021 Acer Swift 3 refresh as well, with Ryzen 5 5500u and Ryzen 7 5700u.

Here is one article for you from USB consortium explaining Power Delivery:

why are you spreading misinformation as fact and linking me to a junk website? laptops not charging over usb pd 3.0 is a well known issue. you clearly dont review laptops much because this is common knowledge. you can watch any number of youtube reviews from ownordisown, jarrodstech, etc and they will complain about the usb c standards and frustration on why certain laptops wont accept a charge via aftermarket usb c connectors, and when asked manufactures claim they want to weed out unverified chargers from damaging the laptop.
Third Party Charger not supported by some laptops is a very common issue because manufacturers want to make sure that the chargers certify certain quality standard to ensure those not damaging the laptops. But it does change the fact that Power Delivery enabled Type-C port won't support charging. Go to all the Laptop pages supporting USB-C charging, including Lenovo, Dell, HP, Acer and you will find out that they mention Power Delivery 3.0 for the type-C port supporting charging. Let me know if you find otherwise.

But I know for sure that you will be keep blabbering instead of providing actual link or proof to back your point. So, below is the official spec for one Acer Predator 300 model, PH315-53-71QX. Let me know where Acer said that to have Power Delivery: -
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/con....Q7ZAA.00
It says:
USB Type-C Detail:
USB Type-C port, supporting:
USB 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps)
USB charging 5 V; 3 A
The above means that it can output 15W Charging but doesn't support power delivery.
Now you may start trolling again by saying that is last generation model, not the latest model. So, below is the link for PH315-54-760S, latest Helios 300 with 11th Gen Tiger Lake and RTX 3070.
https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/con....QC2AA.00
USB Type-C Detail
USB Type-C port:
USB 3.2 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps)
DisplayPort over USB-C
Thunderbolt 4
USB charging 5 V; 3 A
Tell me where do you see it to have Power Delivery mentioned.
But feel free to provide an official Acer Laptop link where Power Delivery has been mentioned for the Type-C port in the Acer official Product spec but in reality it does not support it,
Now coming to the point where Laptop manufacturers limiting the third party chargers, yes that is true but for very very small set of laptops. That was a big issue couple of years back when Type-C port was just being introduced and the standards were not cleared. During that time, manufacturers used to limit or completely prevented third party chargers to be used with certain of their Laptops. However, that has nothing to do with Power Delivery, as you've mentioned, that is just an extra layer added by manufactures to prevent damage to their system, if a not compatible or properly designed charger is not being used. Those problems are almost gone now as Type-C is now a common thing and third party chargers are far more better and standard design.
There are still some compatibility with some more powerful Laptops with dedicated GPU but the reason is that on those laptops manufacturers used some custom design to go over the maximum 100W limit for Power Delivery 3.0. For example, the new XPS 15 laptops come with a 120W USB-C charger and obviously you can guess that it has some customization since PD limit is 100W for now. If you use a Third party charger then the power is restricted to 65W only. But that is the customization added my manufacturer, not because any PD limitations.
