The amount of computer illiterate people on here is shocking.

It's a wonder any lightweight laptop ever finds its way to SlickDeal status here. Every single thread here seems to have people complaining about non-upgradable RAM (despite this coming with 16GB which is equal to or better than 99% of the world's laptops). I get the crying about 8GB but now 16GB isn't acceptable if it's soldered? Really? Every single thread here also seems to have people comparing 6 lb 15.6 inch gaming "laptops" to thin n lights and concluding that this is a bad deal because the one that is physicially 50% smaller and lighter seems to cost more. Perhaps SD needs to have a generic disclaimer at the top informing readers that non-upgradeable RAM is now standard for ultra-compact laptops but 16GB is the absolute max that any prebuilt laptop will currently have without a custom config, and that ultra-compact laptops will cost much more than some poorly assembled gaming behemoth. Shame to see downvotes and complaints about stuff like this.

Legit gripes I'm seeing here: the graphics card is below spec. Silver backlit keys can be a pain to see. Gripes not even seeing here: 300 nits is the minimum for a decent display and I really can't believe we're still using barrel plugs. At least it appears to charge via USB-c as well.
Not many laptops that weigh 3.3lbs with a 3000 series card except for maybe the zeph 14
Show me another laptop in the thin and light form factor that comes with a 8c/16t CPU and 3050ti discrete graphics for under 1k.

Very nice review and Editor's Choice LaptopMedia:
https://laptopmedia.com/review/ac...sfx14-41g/
I think this was $1,070 previously an Amzn, so $70 discount?
A good deal IMO, considering there's really no reason to discount this.

Silver color backlit keyboard is no good? Does it come in dark colors? I prefer the entire laptop dark grey.

Check the YouTube review from Mathew Moniz as well. It has benchmark scores and he also concluded that this is one of the best value laptop for students which is good for all kind of apps and very solid battery life.

After my experience with a Dell and Samsung with silver keys of slightly different shades, I would definitely recommend seeing the keyboards in person if at all possible.

Imo the keyboard is fine. My eyes aren't the best and I don't have any trouble seeing the keys in multiple types of lighting. My desktop is running an RTX 3080/5800x and this little laptop plays everything that it does and does it with respectable frame rates and 1080p. I'm more than pleased with it.

I'm glad it's ok for you on this.

But my eyes are fine. It's the combination of glare and other things that can make some light colored keys suck. I probably have an issue with this because I'm not a touch-typer.

Great experience on what this laptop can do. A lot of SD people just reject some GPUs over anything else.

This comment doesn't deserve the downvotes, other laptops with 60w gpus get criticized and this one is way below that. The review listed by someone else does minimal testing on a few 2+ year old games and concludes it can run aaa titles. They also show a stat where its gpu runs at 2/3 the clock speed of an entry level 3050 laptop as a comparison. This is still a nice machine for its overall profile but the gpu is definitely only sufficient for light gaming. Which is still appealing in context of the overall package if that's what you are looking for.

I got a similar laptop from Costco and returned it. Build quality is pretty poor overall if you've ever used something like a Dell XPS, Macbook or even nicer Lenovo's. If you're after good specs for the money, these are nice though. Just don't expect premium feel or anything.

Wow the combination of CPU and RTX 3000 is great. Even with mq this is a solid buy!

Isn't the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 a better buy at $870?
