Previously was an actual truck in larger cities, but since Covid it's just been text message daily deal sort of thing

This exact item was Amazon's "treasure truck" deal of the day about 3 weeks ago for $21.99.

Bought it and am pretty happy so far.

I've tried 3 different brands and they all use a plastic connecter there, and it has failed in 3/6 of them. For the Delta in2ition you can find metal ball connectors that fit it online, but they are only in chrome and need a little adaptation, and they cost a bit extra.

If using the plastic connector, it CAN work: the best advice I can give is use a layer of pipe thread tape, and add a thin bead of pipe sealant on each side (like loctite), and then screw it on very gently and NOT tight; just up to when you get some resistance.

This method has worked on all the plastic ones I have installed since. It seems the cracks develop from a tight seal from metal-to-plastic coupled with the water pressure. as long as it's using the tape+sealant for the water seal, you should be okay.

I was shopping for a showerhead, saw a couple expired on Slickdeals, but this seemed like a good deal on a known name (Moen).

About this item
VERSATILE DESIGN: Chrome finish is highly reflective for a mirror-like look that works with any decorating style
MAGNETIC BASE: The magnetic docking system allows you to easily detach and use as a handheld shower head or effortlessly replace it to dock with the snap of a magnet
CUSTOMIZE YOUR SHOWER: Multiple distinct shower settings gives flexibility and variety
ADA COMPLIANT: Complies with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) specifications
BUILT TO LAST: Backed by Moen's Limited Lifetime Warranty

Weird coincidence: My showerhead exploded a few weeks ago and I also have been looking for a showerhead. I know nothing about these things and didn't know where to start. I was sad to have missed that Delta In2ition Walmart deal that popped up around prime day and early July.

Ordered this Moen after the $15 Amazon Photos discount for ~$16 and just received mine today.
Will try it out to see how it works! The display model at Home Depot seemed pretty versatile!

Looking at reviews it seems that the plastic connector that screws onto your water line connection is really brittle. I guess the good news is that this product has a lifetime warranty? The bad news is that you might have to use that warranty often.

Why not? You can always get a new one every few years. Considering the residue accumulated all the time, you don't need to clean it since it will be replaced with a new one 😆

I literally just bought this last week from Target for a few dollars more ($31.99). It looks like Target has since lowered their price to $28.99, so maybe they will do a price adjustment.

I was also concerned about the reviews that I had read on Amazon, but the lifetime warranty convinced me to give it a shot. It was very easy to install and I'm happy with it so far.

I use Amazon quite a bit and never heard of the Treasure Truck. How do I find out about this?

I have this model and the plastic tubing in the shower head actually burst yesterday. I had purchased this deal but glad I read this thread and saw that there's a lifetime warranty. Probably going to that route now!

I echo this. Bought it a year or so ago from HD for $40, and while the plastic connector may give a pause to some, we're not adjusting the angle of the showerhead so we hope it'll last longer. There's a remote dock for it but from what I read here on SD it's not very good even though it's $14 only since it put s the showerhead at an awkward angle.

Just wanted to add that I really like this shower head. Was very easy to make it more powerful by futzing with the flow restrictor.

Had it for over a year now without issues. At first I thought the magnetic was a gimmick, but I find it rather convenient.

Just installed this last month. It's ok, does it's job without fuss, magnet is nice and strong- clicks back with authority. Like most of these, I find the "six" functions minor variations of 2 basics, tight strong and wide shower.
