We have an acquaintance that works at Samsung in Plano, TX who a few months ago said that they'll use the chip shortage as the reason not to come out with a new Note but that they already have no intention of doing anymore work on future Note phones. The chip shortage is just a convenient excuse to consolidate the phone lines.

Kind of sad to be honest, I LOVE the Note series. I've had a 4, 8 and now 10+. I guess it's going to be a while till I upgrade again. In all honesty I use the stylus very little, I mainly like the square-ish shape larger screen/battery and the spec bump they usually received.

I've been getting a new phone for the last few years every 6 months, between the S series and the Note series launches. I've used a Fold2 for a week and it was very underwhelming. I guess it's back to normal person life only getting the S Ultra series once a year.

I am interested in a new Watch Active 3 though if it comes out.
Underwhelming in what sense? Slow when using it like an older phone? I tried one at BB. I can definitely see the appeal. It was as snappy to use as any of the other flagship phones there going between apps. Video looked great of course. Really wish I did the 100 free trial on the Fold 2 just for the heck of it.

Can't wait to see what the Fold 3 brings to the table. Unfortunately I don't think the iPhone 12 Pro Max trade in values will be worth it.

they usually offer higher trade-ins for the foldables (currently $750 trade-in for fold2) so wouldn't be surprised to see something similar for the new ones

s21 and s21+ will be at least 600+ if we are to go by what s10 trade in was for s21, ultra will most likely be like 700
Just saw this video where he says Samsung is giving $850 trade in value fot the Note 20 Ultra:

https://youtu.be/d89yUW579bQ

According to the video, you can check by seeing current trade in values to purchase the Fold 2.

I had a Note 20 Ultra screen fixed by Samsung 3 weeks ago and it only took an afternoon. They contract out fixes locally through shops. They used UbreakIfix near me.
Had the same phone fixed at a Samsung store. Process was around 1.5 hours to fix.

The actual usage is very odd to me. Sometimes I just want to quickly take my phone out of my pocket a flip through an email, text, social media, etc without making a big production of unfolding the phone. Every time I pulled the Fold 2 out of my pocket it made using a phone a production having to open it. Some people may like that or not care if people see them on their phone in a group (most younger people I deal with today are like this), but I'd rather not be rude or inattentive when with others.

Also, I'm either old enough or have a good enough memory to remember phones that did not have glass screens on them. You could scratch them if you took them out of the box wrong. It was essential to put one of those soft plastic screen protectors over the screen to absorb the wear and tear of using the plastic non-glass touchscreen. It's nuts to think that this phone won't show tons of wear and tear on the screen. I personally don't sit in a dust-free bubble when using my phone. Sometimes it's in my office, sometimes it's outside working out, or on a dusty job site. We're going backward on how well screens will hold up.

Same looking at the pixel line now because of their new inhouse tensor chip. OnePlus has let me down, and even though Samsung is consistently reliable, I prefer close to stock android
