Why we picked it
Love Alexa at home? Echo Auto lets you take her on the road, using the Alexa app on your phone and your car's speakers.
Alexa-Enabled: While Alexa can't chip in for gas, she can help you stream content from your favorite apps hands-free. You can also use your voice to make calls, add items to your to-do list, and review your calendar.
Echo Auto was built for the road. With 8 microphones and far-field technology, it can hear you over music, A/C, road noise, and annoying backseat drivers.
Need a moment to yourself? You can instantly disable the microphones with the touch of a button.

The echo auto I received was not very responsive. It worked around half the time.
I called tech support six times. Each time they told me the same thing -- reset, re-pair the Bluetooth, let it run in the background, turn battery usage to high. It never solved the problem.
I asked for a replacement unit. They refused to send me a new unit and kept insisting I try to troubleshoot it. When I finally got too frustrated with the unit, I asked to return it. They told me the 30 day return period had ended and I couldn't return it. After elevating the matter, they finally returned my money.

What battery usage are you talking about?

This auto-connects to the phone when I start up the car and it hears me pretty well with road noise and the stereo up. Sometimes it misses an Alexa command, but I also have a pretty soft voice and it's setup on the passenger side center vent.
The sound quality is solid enough for me, especially for a bluetooth connection. I haven't tested the voice call functionality mostly because I don't talk on the phone much. I got it for $15 on prime day and I'd agree $20 should be about the max price on this.
The "make calls" function is limited to Echo calling (not placing or answering cellular phone calls) so it is a poor replacement for a decent BT adapter.
EXACTLY! most of us can say hey Google or hey Siri and get the exact same functions. Many can even say Alexa, since they have the Amazon app. This thing seems to be completely pointless, which I guess is why it has gotten so cheap
Yeah I got one on a deal when it came out a few years ago but can't figure out why I wouldn't just use my phone. I never set it up.
