Because *Spoiler* "Highlight below to see"

They killed off one of the main characters from the first game. A few idiots that were critical of the story sent death threats to the director and some of the voice actors. Regular fans that had issues with the story were lumped in with those rotten apples and labeled racists, homophobes and misogynists. Naughty dog also hired a shell company to copyright strike anyone that was talking about the story leaks before the game came out. Even people that were just discussing the leaks and not showing any images or video. That's just my two cents from my perspective. I just don't see how attacking your customers is good business.

I think people need to get over themselves. The game is perfectly fine. It's not woke just because there are lesbians in the game. I enjoyed my time with it. Pick it up if you haven't already. 20 bucks is a steal.

I thought the first was amazing then heard all the woke stuff about the 2nd so I ignored it. I played it 6 months later. Was really an amazing experience. Now it has 60fps as well.

Thanks for the share but i'd much rather watch The Room again.
Yeah if you don't like the GOTG. It was a great game with a twist. I know people love to make all games about political statements but the gameplay and story are great. Another classic for me and my favorite game of last gen next to GOW.

The woke of us part 2. In all seriousness, I loved the first. It probably is in my top 5 ever. I'm curious about this one but not curious enough at this price.
I was cautious with all the woke comments, so I ended up borrowing the game from a coworker instead of buying it. I kept waiting for the woke stuff to come up but it never did.. (we knew Ellie was gay from the first one... also who cares?). Ended up loving the whole experience, so I'll probably end up buying my own copy. This is all coming from someone who also loved the first game btw.

This game was perfect as-is. Seriously, I don't care about what people consider "woke", it's just good storytelling that doesn't fit an existing mold. Seriously raged though on that one surprise I didn't expect.
Yeah the story twist was tough at first to play but once you got use to playing as the other character it was fine to get their perspective. I would never want to play with that character again though but was fine in how it moved and also connected you so much to the storyline. A pure gem and not a game trying to push a political agenda like many right wing extremists want you to think.

i really don't get these comments...
there's literally only 1 "L" couple in the game and vague reference to a "T" person, that's discussed once but never actually said.
that's only 2 letters out of the alphabet mafia.

it's like people either didn't pay attention or didn't play the game.
it's an impressive amount of hate to get hung up on.
I have not played the second game yet, I usually don't bite until the games are $15, or less. Is the LGBTQABC12345678910 aspect forced, or does it flow naturally? You can easily tell when an agenda is being pushed, compared to when something just happens to be. For example, Fear Street on Netflix has a lot of forced "wokism", we chose to shut two of the three movies off, due to the ridiculousness of it all.

Trying to keep this spoiler-free, but there's maybe a pinch of spoiler in the third paragraph of my comment, depending on how crazy you are about absolutely anything being revealed. So, skip this if you don't want to risk it.

First off, let me start by saying that I didn't believe anyone who was trashing this game. I thought it was just a bunch of angry fanboys who were mad that the developers went in the direction of Ellie being a lesbian. Everything I read pretty much sounded like idiots who just wanted to complain about "wokeness." I thought there was no way in hell that this game could actually be bad. I was wrong.

This game is awful. The story is a complete disservice to fans. The new girl, Abby, is a completely irredeemable scumbag who essentially ruined the game. This is not the game fans we're waiting for.

I know… I don't speak for everyone, but the majority of hardcore fans were pissed about this game. Now, of course, some of them are the pissed off fanboys that I mentioned earlier, but for me, it's really just a case of the developers presenting a far inferior, and honestly really annoying story, compared to the first game.

I'm not bashing anyone who enjoyed the game. That doesn't affect me one bit. I'm just warning you. The bad reviews from gamers are not all just for the purpose of trashing the game. I went in fully expecting to love this, regardless of what people were saying, but I ended up hating it.

Personally my only problem with the game was its length, i felt like there were places where they could have trimmed down. I actually liked the perspective changes but it tended to drag, also it was emotionally draining since you already saw the result of your own actions.

The game made me feel uncomfortable and drained emotionally at times. I thought it did an excellent job of living in the gray and the narrative pushed you in directions you didn't always agree with but could understand.

I can definitely see why its not everyones cup of tea because while there is a good ending, its not happy and victorious the way many games can be.

I am really happy I played that game, i thought it was an engrossing experience, I blew through it in a few days because I threw myself into the story. Last of Us was a better game for many reasons but this one is one of the best games Ive played since.

Have only played a some of the beginning of the 1st. I wasn't immediately into the combat/gameplay, though maybe I need to revisit as I hadn't played this style of 3rd person game with a controller in a while when I attempted it. Went ahead and ordered TLOU2 on the expectation that combat/gameplay is much better.

Maybe I should drop the difficulty down on TLOU1 and play through it just to get the story? I'm not sure the gameplay challenges in that game are essential to the experience or not.

I'm currently playing God of War on my PS5, and enjoying both the story and combat. After that I'll either go back to Horizon Zero Dawn which I was enjoying or revisit TLOU1.

Bought it at full price to tip the hat to ND for making such high quality games that run well on both PS4 & PS5 consoles (talking to you here CDPR).

I was really amazed at how well this game looked and played on my aging PS4. Great voice acting, beautiful sound, music and atmosphere, great visuals, strong action and enemy AI. Your enemy in P2 is more centered on roving gangs of violent radical gangs/cults than zombies vs. P1.

Ellie is a stone cold stealth assassin in this game and was fun to play. LOSP2 has gotten stellar reviews from many reputable gaming review sites and has a metacritic score of 93 out of 100: https://www.metacritic.com/game/p...us-part-ii

It get's a bad name due to politics and politics alone. Turn Abbey to Able and the agro would be reduced 10-fold which is ridiculous.

For $20 this is a steal.

Excellent post. I agree with the length criticism. I didn't get into that into my long post from earlier here, but I did feel that there was definitely some fat that could have been trimmed. At least you could say you got your moneys worth though, even at $60. It's the most replayable single player shooter IMO due to all the game modifications and customizations you can do to difficulty modes. I even tried playing, using the controller as a gyroscope. That was kind of a game changing experience for aiming, haha...

This is an excellent game. Much better if you played the first. If you haven't you should give it a try.

I really enjoyed this game. You will probably feel like shit after playing this game. It was gut-wrenching but that was the point of the game. 5/5

I need to replay the first one.
