Is there some limitation of the Costco warranty that makes you say that? Have they explicitly rejected claims for burn in?

I'm asking only because Costco tends to be the most lenient and forgiving retailer when it comes to returns and warranties, so I'm surprised to hear they're beaten by BB.

Costco only covers what the MFG covers- which explictly excludes burn in.

The BB warranty explicitly DOES cover burn in.

That said- Burn in is a largely imaginary problem if vary content and don't abuse the set.

And the BB warranty is like 1/3rd the cost of the TV.... and only gets you one replacement per like 1/3rd the cost of the TV paid- which, if you keep abusing it the same way, you're gonna get the same failure on the replacement.

Man between this and the C1...anyone that has both the C1 and CX can you clarify why one may want the CX over the C1? Seems the CX is brighter and has more contrast, but has more black crush and jutter in gaming, where as the color is better, it has a clearer picture, handles SD upscaling way better, handles black crush better and has better performance for gaming, but isn't as bright.. i doubt it but i wonder if these things can be or have been fixed with firmware and or calibration.. Any insights?

Rtings.com says the C1 is inferior to the CX when it comes to HDR brightness and out of the box color accuracy.

I was on that fence weeks ago. Originally I talked myself down to a 55" and compromised with an upgrade to C1. I sat on it a few days and decided to return for a 65" CX. According to all reviews they are pretty much equal with the exception of the C1 received a firmware update that makes is Dolby Vision 4k @120 hz compatible with the Xbox Series X.

With that said... I went from a 43" Toshiba Firetv to the 65" CX and holy shit... watching anything is a treat that requires me to constantly exclaim, "GD, that looks so good."

I feel like I have a premium theater in my house. I love it. I honestly don't think you can make a bad choice between the two.. it just depends if you can justify spending extra cash.

Previous comments explain they are only B&M on the West Coast.

Sweet thank you. Why did you return the C1? Do you think the wow factor was from the size upgrade or youre saying the CX looks so much better than the C1?

It's the exact same TV internals just with different model name for Costco.

Neither has 4K tuner? Future proof as more stations will broadcast 4K over air

Personally, I'm skipping the CX in favor of the C1 because the smooth gradation setting on the CX doesn't work and LG has no plans to fix it. This alone is enough for me to hold off for the C1 because I absolutely cannot stand color banding.

Can't wait for OLED to come down in price. I can't watch qled after OLED I don't know why some people think qled picture is better. Brighter yes no burn in definitely, but I am yet to see anything remotely close to five-year-old OLED

OLEDs HAVE come down in price.

Getting a 77" at this price was unimaginable just a couple years ago. I paid around $2500 for my 65" E6 new and that was a really good deal at the time.

If they're still too much for you, you'll have to settle for another technology or try to getba deal on a used one as I don't see these coming down a lot further. That would put them too close to their own LED sets.

Is anyone in the US broadcasting OTA any higher than 720p or 1080i?

I got my CX from Video Only for a crazy good price last year. Includes a 5 year warranty but doesn't cover burn in if that's a concern for you. If you're west coast you'd be crazy not to go there but as everyone says no delivery option outside of those local areas.

Yes. In 24 cities and growing. 4k and 120 hz uncompressed is pretty sweet

It wouldn't matter to me. I can't stand watching live TV. TiVo spoiled me... so I would need a time-shifting device anyway... and it would be the time-shifting device that would need the 4K tuner.
