I bought two from directtools a month ago and they exceeded my expectations with performance and usefulness. I am buying a couple more and giving one as a gift. I've used it on the peloton, the side of the hot tub, ball park, camping, etc. I've even used it at night to keep the bugs off the screen when watching TV on the patio.

The fan moves decent amount of air at low speed but I find it quite loud for indoor use. Unlike some household fans with large blades, the Ryobi has small blades so it has to spin quite fast to generate the same air volume (large blade low rpm fans are more prone to slowdown or stalling due to backdraft so those are less suited for outdoor use). It sounds like a mini air circulator. I have to turn up TV or PC volume a few notches to compensate. I also have the Arctic Cove misting fan (now sold as the Ryobi) when HD clearanced it for $20 in 2017 and also find it quite noisy for indoor use.

I guess I'm used to the quiet portable brushless fans (18650 or USB powered) I've bought from eBay and Amazon over the years for $5 to $15. Obviously those are less rugged or versatile than the Ryobi, but has good runtime on one or two 18650 and far less bulky.

I just ordered two online free shipping home. Ryobi probably figured they are missing out and need to stock up since scalpers are flipping these for $40 or $50 each. And whoever is paying the scalping prices is the reason they still exist. Let's have common sense and not support people that clear up the shelves to make a buck.

This little fan is awesome. I use it when I'm organizing my garage storage room or working on small projects outdoors or in garage. Definitely recommend it if you're in the ryobi ecosystem.

I've totally let this drain in been able to recharge it sounds like a faulty battery?
Faulty battery for sure. These batteries have BMS built in and will manage the drain condition.

Every Ryobi fan I own has a purpose. Can't have too many things. We take ours to the gym for treadmill as well as outside on the bench table

One word of warning when using this wth one+ battery. DO NOT let the fan drains the battery to the point that it completely stop spinning! This will over discharge the battery, put it in "sleep" state and you will not be able to charge in again. That what happened to my 1.5Ah ONE+ battery which does not have a battery level indicator on it.
Yeah, there is no such thing as 'sleep state' for the lithium batteries, which is what I assume you are talking about. The BMS or battery management system is built into the battery, and is meant to completely cut off voltage when it is considered drained. You probably have a bad battery, the 1.5ah packs are notoriously bad as I have taken apart quite a few with a bad cell in them. The single stack batteries only have 5 cells of 18650 in them and usually one goes bad, although I have taken apart a few that have had 2 bad cells. No ryobi one+ tool has a bms built into it, they are all in the batteries. Either your battery is bad, or your charger. Try to unplug your charger and bend the two prongs inward that touch the post of the battery so that it makes better contact. The older chargers had issues with the charger prongs not being springy enough and wouldn't make full contact with the battery, resulting in a 'no charge' or 'bad battery' light.

I agree, the Ryobi fan moves the air - but, it is loud. My little vornado zippi that I kept by my bed died and I was using the ryobi, but it is was too loud. I found out the zippi was still under warranty and they are sending me a new one.

I still think the Ryobi fan is great, though.
