Installed 4202-S-KIT couple of years ago on my Honda Odyssey from a very similar deal from BestBuy (posted on Slickdeals, installation included for $249.99). Since then my car has been toast. The battery drains out every other day and I have to give a jump start in order to use it (replaced battery but the behavior continued even with a new battery). Contacted BestBuy at the time and they basically says it has nothing to with them and the installation. Just posting this so that you are aware. I realize it may work for some but based on my research, many experienced similar car behavior. I wish there is an easy way to remove this remote start. I asked BestBuy to do that but they refused to do that as well. Since then I have become a reluctant customer of BestBuy ! Good luck to all.

Your issue is likely threefold.

First, these remote starts have to be powered all the time in order to be ready to receive the signal from your remote. That means yet another 24/7 power parasite on your battery.

Second, your battery is probably old. Have you had it tested? How old is it?

And third, Honda is notorious for massively under sizing their batteries considering all the power hungry toys in cars nowadays. Throw in power doors and lid on your van, lights, seats, etc. and combine it with a small as they could get away with battery, and it's a recipe for dissatisfaction. Just check out YouTube for all of the Honda battery upgrade videos. I inherited a pristine CR-V from my mother that had 2 batteries replaced by the time it hit 40K and it has the Compustar remote start. The second time, I installed a larger battery tray and a larger battery. The old one looked like a toy.

Bottom line is that remote starts eat batteries and Hondas need bigger batteries. And you can plan on replacing it every few years.

I got the same deal ($30 cheaper, as stated) last year for my truck and it offered installation dates when I checked out. I'm trying to purchase one for my wife's truck but don't see installation scheduling option.
