Effin' awesome!!! WOOOHOOO just in TIME!!! Current plan expires TODAY. I had already purchased a tello code from the stacksocial deal because thats all that I could find as far as a deal - time to return that since I haven't redeemed it.

Dammit, now I need to figure out how to use $30 in SS credits...
When you do this, do port the old number or just get a new one with the new registration? I assume you just have a google voice number which makes switching operators easier.

So the trick is to port your number to google voice. Then you get the mint mobile deal, since up as new customer, get random phone number and you forward it to your number through google voice. And then it works everytime there is a deal. No need to port out then back in 30days later. Just get the deal sign up as new customer everytime, swap sim out and forward the number.

I have done this for awhile and works every time for us.

Another trick when using google voice is to pick a random area code different than yours for the "new number".....you can then use apps like "yet another call blocker" to blacklist that entire area code since you know any from them are direct dials that did not go to the google voice number. I mention Yet another call blocker(free on fdroid.org) specifically as it has an option to block BEFORE the phone rings.

Can this sim card be used in a data-only device? Going to be on a roadtrip, it would be great if it could be used in laptop with WWAN and cellular iPad.
I activated another mint sim card couple days ago and use it in netgear m1 wifi access point. Works fine. APN needs to be changed, but once you do that, no problem. Getting this deal now, since for AP the phone number doesn't matter

Great deal. I just ordered two sims with free shipping to arrive on Saturday. I already have two lines of Mint for my wife and myself, but the kids are both on Tello 2GB/6 months service deal from Stack Social last spring. Their 6 months is ending in October, so I'll probably have to port them a bit short of finishing their last Tello month, but not a big deal. I think I paid $75 total for both lines/6 months.

I wouldn't press my luck with that, but hey it's only $30 you lose so maybe worth a try.

Two or three possibilities. 1, your phone doesn't have the correct bands for T-Mobile LTE (5/12/66/71), 2, you are in an area with poor T-mobile LTE coverage, 3, you need to set the APN settings manually. If its is none of those, then maybe you are in a very congested area where the de-prioritization is affecting you.

Otherwise, Mint is as Fast as T-mobile allows. They have lower priority, but when you are not congested, it typically gets 20Mbps or faster. 5G phones will get 5G speed over Mint as well.

For me, I noticed much faster speeds compared to Verizon when I was in my Downtown Atlanta office, probably because of the 600MHz (band 71) signal penetrating into the buildings better.

I'll give this a go. My Liberty Wireless plan just expired. Service on it was great. I'll see if Mint is B.S. or not. Will report back.

Wait can we use this for existing users? I'm on the $15/mo 4gb plan, if I add this, will it add to the end of my plan?

Edit: looks like this is only for new users
The trick to continually take advantage of these Mint deals if you are a regular Mint user is to obtain a Google Voice number and forward all your Mint calls to that Google Voice number. Then you can continuously sign up as a new Mint user (which will get you a new sim card with new carrier number). Within Google Voice you just forward all your calls from your carrier number to your Google Voice number and your number never changes in terms of calls going out or being recieved as well as MMS/SMS texts.

Does GV work reliably to receive TFA from banks, CCs, etc..?
Yes for the most part - I've only had issues with Zelle. But banks, venmo, cashapl/PayPal have all worked for me.

thx for post OP - ordered two for different use cases.

FYI, for those interested, I noticed they have a bundle deal for Microsoft 365 Family, approx. $80 if you include it in your order. Shows up after adding the Mint deal and viewing your cart. It's under a Special Offers banner near the top of the cart page (not the cart quick view).

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/micr...Id=6402562

cheers!
