Thanks OP!
The reason is that warranty period is a key in calculating TBW and DWPD (Device Writes Per Day) Taking the calculation from Chris Evans... Not movie star Chris Evans but another Chris Evans...
DWPD = TBW * 1000 / (warrantied-days * capacity-in-GB)
TBW = (DWPD * warrantied-days * capacity-in-GB) / 1000
The EVO has a 5 year warranty and the QVO has a 3 year warranty. That extra 2 years on the EVO warranty scales the TBW on the EVO version higher. But when you do the maths to get DWPD, they're the same. 0.32 DWPD each. They also have the same mean time to failure.
This is a great deal, it deserves to be on the front page. But also realize, better quality drives also go on sale for similar prices. The 2TB MX500 with TCL memory, has the same endurance, better performance, and a 5 year warranty. It was just on sale for $161.49 from Newegg on 7/29/21. In May, Amazon had it for a day at $154. The Western Digitals & Sandisks go on sale regularly. In June, the 4 TB Sandisk Ultra 3D was $315 at Newegg. Twice the price but twice the capacity and better overall.
This is a great price if you need an SSD now.

SSD will catch HDD prices in 4 years, when it is 5x cheaper than today.

The good news for our children is that SSD will continue to decrease in price beyond hdd as manufacturing improves.
