Nice strips and app. The only negative is that the USB ports are not managed at all.

I've become super lazy and really enjoy all of the smart stuff. Barely flip a light switch anymore... I know that may be unpopular decision to some, but I enjoy it all. Everything smart is kept on a separate wifi in my house. (IT geek)

I got this with another sale like it pretty well. Hooked up my computer, monitors, etc. in my home office with this. The only thing I own by this company, but have not had any issues either. And it's neat seeing the power consumption of each plug. Integrates with smart home if you are into that. And you can set things up on a schedule which is pretty nice.

Wouldn't buy full price, but at this would if you are interested in the things above.

This issue only affected some specific older devices. My HS300 works fine in local mode. I use it with Home Assistant, too.
Thank you for this AND curse you for this.
Now I HAVE to buy it šŸ˜‰
Ordered 2!

This (or the single outlet KP115) cans do what you're describing if you use Home Assistant to control it.

Among other things, I use mine to monitor the time my central vacuum is in use so my kids (and I) know if they've run the vacuum for a sufficient amount of time to get credit for that chore. It logs on/off cycles and time spent in 'on'.

On my list is to monitor the septic tank pump and furnace condensate pump and send an alert if they haven't run a certain amount of time each day/week. Need to figure out what "normal" looks like for those devices by looking at logs.

This capability saved me a headache last year when my septic pump stopped working. I knew something was wrong days before the tank filled up, vs finding out when the tank alarm goes off and then not being able to use anything until it's fixed. Ended up just being a dead float switch and easy fix.
All of this sounds super interesting!
I appreciate you sharing..!

Does anyone know of a device that mechanically and physically disconnects l-n-g power to the outlet with a wifi command to provide lightning protection to simulate like unplugging from wall during storms
The only way I could see that is if you wired up a three pole relay that was powered by a device like this.

Even then you're not really protecting against lighting, since it would easily jump across the contacts.

I'm not saying this doesn't exist, just that I've only seen that type of equipment in industrial controls.

Just want to add for a single power strip use if everything's on and off at the same time, you can get any smart plug and plug the strip into that.

How is the power monitoring? That's the main thing I'm interested in right now.

If you need usb controls also (i never use them) i got some APC wifi strips with 3 controllable ac (6 total) and 2 usb for $25 last time they had a sale. It is under $40 now. They are very solid.
