Initial impression -- for an i3 CPU, it's pretty decent! 4 Core / 8 thread. 3.7Ghz Turbo.
The SSD is an NVMe Samsung according to device manager.
The WIFI card is an Intel AX201 Wifi6 adapter.
The screen is fine. I've seen worse and I've seen better, but for a $450 laptop, it's a decent screen. Colors and brightness are acceptable.
The keyboard is confirmed NOT backlit. As a matter of fact, the picture on Staples.com of this unit shows the F4 key with a symbol on it of a lit keycap. The actual laptop has the F4 key blank. So there must be a model with a backlit KB, but this one is not it.
If you have questions, let me know. I've got a spare 8GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM I want to stick it in so I'll be opening it up.
edit: I forgot, it comes with McAfee, Wild Tangent Games and Express VPN bloatware. Easily uninstalled. Other than that, pretty lean.
edit 2: Here are pics of the inside. 2.5" SATA missing cable, etc.

17.3" diagonal, FHD (1920 x 1080), IPS, anti-glare, 250 nits, 45% NTSC

Unless MS goes out of their way to make sure only Windows 11 drivers work, then I don't see why Windows 10 drivers won't work in Windows 11. It's not *that* different.
But, as you say, we will have to wait and see...
However if TPM 2.0 is not available on the machine it is not the least bit unlikely that Microsoft will not let you install windows 11.
The only point I was making is evidently Microsoft told Dell to not bother with the drivers because those Desktops will not run Windows 11. I am really just guessing. Time will tell but so far seems to me Microsoft is solid on TPM 2.0 requirement.

Going to order one from Amazon [amazon.com]. Should have by Thursday.
The exact one I bought is sort of out of stock now as it has a 2 week delivery (and increased in price), but there are lots of similar ones, just search 925456-001 [amazon.com]. There is one for $9 [amazon.com] w/FS with Prime.
There is also ebay [ebay.com].
The cable is just the right length.

Save the hassle of upgrading and cleaning laptop of old files.

I still have my XP, Vista, 7, 8 machines lying around. My upgrade cycle pretty much lines up with OS updates. When Win 11 becomes available in laptop and desktops. I will be buying devices then.
Unless you need a laptop now. Just wait for 11 to come mainstream.
failure on "BOOT" even using clean boot, what gives? UEFI Safe boot disabled, TPM on or off, same nonsense.

Are you attempting Windows 11 or 10?

You truly are making much more of updating that it really is.
