"Need" lol.
I bought one from Costco last year as well.

As far as I remember, the only way to obtain 1440 and 75Hz is to use the displayport. I think it's strange that one of the hdmi ports is rated for 60Hz, then the other 50Hz. I believe the monitor is also over clockable up to 90ish stable.

For me, the VA panel works fine.
I have something similar from Costco bought a year ago: 34" Class Flat 3,440 x 1,440 Ultra WQHD. I use it 100% for work which involves spreadsheets. Text is not very clear, but I make the best out of it, but changing sharpness, contrast, and brightness. I like it because it's an ultrawide which helps with having to look at spreadsheets with lots of columns.

I bought a monitor in 2011 with 1 msec response time for cheaper. Things are definitely not improving at Samsung at this price point.

You bought a 2k 34 inch uw 75 hz with a samsung panel for cheaper than 300 in 2011? Seems unlikely

I have this monitor. Colors washed out. Good for everyday tasks. I play apex legends on it. 1440P @ 75hz.

Plenty bright. I have no backlight bleed or blooming.

No issues at all. Using display port.

Not this again. I've been gaming for 30 years at 60hz just fine thank you. I wonder how people gamed when 60hz is all we had? ROTFL!

Is 144hz better? yes
Does 75hz mean you cannot game? NO NO NO
Yeah while this is true, I've found 144+ is so much better for fast paced games. Yes you obviously can still game, and game well at that, but the experience is SO much better that if you are someone who primarily plays fast-paced games it would be more than worth it to get a higher refresh rate monitor (imo).

how does this compare to the LG 32" available at many walmarts for $249?

https://brickseek.com/walmart-inv...=406688031

LG is smaller and no curve, but the specs and features seem better on paper. I am not gaming so I am leaning towards the samsung for the extra size.
