I would recommend a "High Endurance" card for Dashcam. Dashcams constantly record so a regular SD card will die much sooner.

On the other hand, a 256gb will be rewritten a lot less frequently than smaller sizes so that should extend life

Do you have a dashcam? I have a 4K one and 256 holds about 2 days worth.
Trust me rewriting and constant writing to the card is definitely a thing.
You don't want the one time you actually need footage from the card to be corrupted. Spend a few bucks more or risk thousands to tens of thousands of dollars. Your gamble bucko.
