Just picked this up to replace the 1080p version I had. The resolution is slightly better, you don't really notice unless you zoom in, but the difference is there. Also, the black plastic seems more brittle than the white plastic version I had. When tightening the screw to hold the camera in place, it cracked at the seam. It still holds the camera's position, but I can move it if I want to. Make sure you don't over tighten this screw. I ended up putting liquid electrical tape all around the ball joint so that it keeps the position better.

Do you know if they added 24/7 recording functionality to this new version? The newer 2K doorbell added that functionality. It downgrades the recording down to 1080p but you can at least record everything. Motion events get added to the recordings too. Just in case the motion events aren't detected you can go back and still see video.

I don't see a setting for continuous recording so I don't think they did. Would be nice to have like the doorbell I have from Best Buy as well.
Anyone know if these can be mounted horizontally? (I.e in ceiling boxes). It looks like the camera doesn't move enough but I was hoping to get someone who owns this to chime in.

Just a heads up for anyone buying, I had to pop out the camera unit's ball joint from the socket to flip the camera so it could be angled down properly. It comes default upside down from the images shown on the box probably to save space when packaging. Here's a forum that talks about it: https://communitysecurity.eufylif...e/241146/9

No versions of the flood cams have homebase support? Cause I'd only buy if it did.
would also be sweet if it was wireless
