I bought this earlier in the year and love it. It's very quiet and has been working well for us. I have programmed it to change temps based on the time of the day and whether or not we are expected to be home. I'm looking to pickup a second one but not sure if I need to at this time (since it's not going to be hot for much longer...).

If the unit is on high it should be pumping out max cold and not throttled by some computer to save energy.

Can be verified with a power amp draw kill-a-watt

Returned mine.

Been watching this for a while, do you guys think it's the best price for this unit? Or will price be going down further as summer goes away? I missed the Lowe's deal of this one for $280, just wondering if I could score one at that amazing prize.

At this point you could roll the dice, given 100+ degree days are at or near end. However, if you don't care one on a clearance deal from a B&M store, you'll likely pay more next spring. Good luck, whatever you choose.

Either way, these are worth every penny, and the savings on your energy bill will pay off the unit easily with that 15.0 rating.

I believe $280 at lowes was a mistake, rather than end of season sale. And thankfully they honored the price. Not expecting that pops up again. But if it does I would jump for another one
