Went to walmart today to see if they still had the expert grill 22" griddle, found this instead. Brickseek didn't show anything and had an incorrect price. They also had a number of other clearance grills I haven't seen posted (one of the pitbosses marked down to $150, as well). Might be worth the investigation. This store still had 3-4 more.
BS if you want to try anyway:

The open edge design is actually a downside in my opinion if you cook things like stir fry, fried rice, fajitas, etc. The enclosed sides keep food from falling off when cooking. If you only use your griddle for burgers and bacon, this isn't an issue. Also, the rectangular shape provides more "equal" cooking zones (relative to size and shape) than the circular models.

Agree. I've used both. While the open edge is nice, it becomes a pain when cleaning the whole outside circle of stuff in the grease area. Glad I only use the 360 at a family members and I have the BS
Correct. A cover is available as an accessory
