When was this ever $229? Two years ago? I love how these companies like to go out of their way to fool people into thinking they are getting an outrageous deal.
According to my google search of the Model number provided by Best Buy, this is a rebranded WD SN550. You can get the WD SN550 from Office Depot for $99 or from Best Buy for $95.

According to many comments in the reviews on BestBuy, WD owns Sandisk, and this is a rebranding of the SN 530 and/or 550.

Didn't SanDisk release it for benchmarking then put slower nand in these?

I guess that's the problem with benchmarking however, my Samsung 840pro SATA SSD still loads games and gets into the servers faster than my nvmd wd pcie 3.0 drives.

That is what best buy is known for, quite a few people fall for it also. Some people make the argument of the $229 pricing being the original msrp but I personally do not care what the original msrp was, I want to know what other retailers are selling it for in comparison to the so called "sale price"

That was my first question when I saw this. Is it too slow?

I have this in a new build and I honestly don't notice a difference from when I had an SSD in, but I'm also not doing much except for streaming and light gaming.

The sad thing is they are making these NVME drives slower and cheaper and hoping the consumer thinks NVME are all the same speed.
