It seems like 3D Blu-Rays hit eBay & used sites in waves. My 3D days are over now, but that's how it was about 6 months ago. Maybe a lot of people have their equipment break at the same time or something. I know enough of mine did that I'm not replacing it right now.
Yea 3d was only ever a gimmick, a bad joke spending money on a fancy tv to filter hidef color and hidef resolution through bad sunglasses.

First off you are paying for Disney+.

Second, many of us like to actually own movies instead of renting through a streaming service at a much higher rate. Just look at how much content Netflix has lost in the last few years.

Pretty sure it did, but I haven't seen, nor have I been looking for a 3D TV for years so not sure how relevant 3D movies are anymore or if you can get hardware to watch them if current TV breaks. It was like a fad that died out. Guess you could use PSVR to watch in 3D though irrc.

I agree with you i use to have a 55in 3d tv and I still own a ton of 3d films plus a 24in Sony 3d tv.but even I realize that the 3d boat was long sail away it was a fad get on with your lives and get into 4k,

I do a bit of repairs, and carefully picked what was important to me. First was the player which I already had, a PS3. Next was the tv, and it took me a little while to narrow down what I liked. I knew I like IPS, 4k, and I knew I liked passive 3d. I knew oled had the prettiest picture (LG C6), but in tvs when the panel goes bad you might as well toss the tv. OLED tvs of that era weren't know for long lasting blues or even burn in resistance. I went with a Sony 65 inch x900c from craigslist for $300 non functioning, and I replaced the mobo for $100. For passive 3D, 4K finally let's you see 3d Blu rays at full resolution. You could get full resolution with a 1080p 3d tv with active 3d because the technology would block out one eye at a time. The x900c Sony has some common problems like the backlight, but I would be able to handle repairs easier than an OLED panel going bad. Response time isn't great for gaming, but is acceptable at around 30ms.
I's not worth all the headaches I was done with 3d 6 years ago

Because everyone doesn't want Disney+ I own most of the films on there. And and there just isn't enough content for me to justify paying for it,

Why is it that people who don't like 3D are so radicalized? Did you all spend a bunch of money on 3D stuff and then get burned when they stopped making as much content? Clearly those who enjoy it really enjoy it, so I don't understand telling other people that what they like isn't worth liking.

Oh man, I've got a ton of movies but not this one. My nephews were asking for this to watch in the car (so I need blu-ray and not digital). Woulda jumped on this, but it's apparently OOS. Now it starts at $8 used or $9 new.

BestBuy in stock is 20 miles away. Not worth a trip to save $3.

I've come to realize this movie has a handful of excellent scenes interspersed amongst many boring scenes. I think this movie has more nostalgia going for it at this point than anything else.

At about 80 minutes, there's not much time for anything to get too "boring" for very long. I think it holds up pretty dang well overall, but I'm sure you're right that nostalgia (and merch. So much merch) is a big part of its enduring popularity.

Back of the Blu-Ray case on Amazon indicates digital copy redeems in iTunes, other images online show MA or iTunes. Anyone know if it can be redeemed directly to iTunes? I rather redeem at iTunes in case it's ever upgraded to 4K, Apple will upgrade for free.

"iTunes Extras
Experience the extended strangeness of The Nightmare Before Christmas with iTunes Extras! In Sing-Along Mode, shriek and carol with Jack Skellington and the rest of Halloween Town as you watch the movie with pop-up lyrics. The Making Of—Discover how the filmmakers used 20 stages, 200 puppets and countless micro-movements to create the stop-motion masterpiece. Plus, Tim Burton's Early Film: Frankenweenie, Storyboard-To-Film Comparison, Deleted Storyboards and Animated Sequences, and much more!"
Mine only had an insert for Movies Anywhere. The iTunes extras show up on MA, however.
