The 4 is only 7.5 watts on battery, while the 6 looks like 50 watts. Also the "woofer" is only 2.95 inches on the 4, and 4.72 inches on the 6. While the listed frequency response is the same on each, 50hz to 20 kHz, the larger speaker is likely to sound better.
I literally own both of them dude. Also read reviews. The 4 has more bass than the 6. But way to be an ass for literally no reason
I bought a replacement battery on Amazon and it stays charged longer than the original ever did. It has been over a year of cranking music while I shower in the bathroom with no problems.

The 4 is not just 7.5 watts on battery, it is 4 * 7.5 = 30 watts on battery. It is 60 watts on AC power.
The 6 is not listed for battery performance, only AC power performance is listed at 50 watts.
Also note, the 4 has two woofers, while the 6 only has one. Both have two passive radiators.
In terms of performance, the 6 will likely have deeper bass (lower frequency extension), while the 4 may be slightly louder and offer stereo separation.
I know. I was just adding more pertinent information.

The 4 has two 75 mm woofers=150 mm.
what? this isnt pertinent its just downright incorrect. two 75mm diameter circles is not magically as big as a 150mm circle. this is like so embarrassing its actually making me embarrassed
this is like when half of americans thought 1/3 was smaller than 1/4

the two massive passive radiators on the 6 means it likely has a similar tuning point for its enclosure as the studio 4 (id say around 60-80hz). I wouldnt doubt that the onyx 6 will sound twice as loud (3db+) at 80hz than the onyx 4 on a ground plane measurement. it also likely has twice as much headroom.
tweeter efficiency is way easier to deal with in terms of thermal power handling. if the 25mm tweeter is [email protected]/1m and 2x20mm tweeter are [email protected]/1m you can just crank the power up and the tweeters will exceed the headroom of the woofers easily.
Former audio engineer here, now hobbyist. Logged in specifically to rip this comment. Onyx 1-4 has a typical stereo design with dual tweeters/woofers. It also has some type of "sub" woofer. The 5 and 6 have one woofer and one tweeter. It is mono. Yuk. Can never use with TV, computer, stereo music without a compromised experience.
If you are really going to hear sub tones anyways, you need an 8"+ cone. That is when you piss off your neighbors because you're literally generating 20 foot waves that penetrate everything. Neither of these speakers will come close to that, and what you want is the best overall sound, not the most overblown bass out of small speakers you can get...
Which brings me to the next point, SA doesn't mean BS. You look at cone sizes, and then you look at frequency responses. Throwing out a bunch of numbers and saying it will sound better is literally the least audiophile thing I have ever heard.
I bought the 4 to use as my computer speaker in a new apartment. Coming from 5" Near field monitors and a 10" sub, and previously owning and knowing the Onyx 1, I think the 4 will be a great compromise for good &fun but not spectacularly amazing sound. However the only time I would buy I mono speaker is if I buy 2
Bro, when left and right channels are too close together it's compromised stereo.

I literally said the 4 will be a great compromise. The stereo separation is not great, but it exists. If it's more than 6-7ft away you do lose that separation, but it still sounds good. You also have two tweeters/woofers able to replicate the L/R channels. it might have a compromised soundstage and be a bit directional, but still stereo.
math and science literacy is eroding in america, i call it the facebook effect, where people are surrounding themselves with similar levels of schooling. In most western countries it would be embarrassing if an adult could not correctly calculate the area of a circle.
Do you know what else is "eroding America"? It's lack of basic respect, decency, and levels of discourse. So many of you say things over the internet that you'd NEVER say to another person's face, and there's simply no reason for the things you say or the nasty ways you say it.

theres "no reason" for me to think that math and science literacy is important for america??
Onyx 6 has roughly ~21% more woofer surface area than the onyx 6.
of course thinking surface area of a woofer cone is the only variable in bass would be ignorant as well. there is the xmax (function of the rubber surround and spider suspension,) and the power handling (usually related to magnet size), and also the tuning of the port (or in this case the tuning of the passive radiator,) among many other variables. Judging by the fact that the onyx 6 has only one tweeter but weighs about 30% more than the onyx studio 4 its likely that the studio 6 has a bigger battery AND has a heavier magnet structure than the onyx 4 two woofers.
So, no, it doesnt have "much more bass response", the studio 6 on paper blows the 4 out of the water. On top of that the onyx 4 is a horrible design (i had the onyx 1), the legs make it horrible to carry it around in a backpack, and the exposed passive radiator means you cant put anything on top of it for fear of screwing up the suspension (then it will permanently make a horrible buzzing noise.)
So the Onyx Studio 4 is a, "horrible design" because you didn't like carrying it around in a backpack? That is the weakest point regarding the form factor of a premium Bluetooth speaker that you could have made. It is NOT designed to be transported that way.
Plus, this entire comment is just a ridiculous attempt at spec analysis that falls flat on its face

i can think of about 738,000 reasons.
No. There was no reason to insult the person while making a correction. I've been an educator for nearly 30 years and I know how important education is; it's amazing quickly a discussion about a speaker changes into an argument about personal intelligence.

The 4 actually has two round passive radiators, one firing forward, one firing back.
The 6 has one 120mm woofer, and two racetrack shaped passive radiators.
We need to use our power to force the price down to $99, which it will hit if they can't liquidate it by Halloween.
You're a little too late on this post lol
