No its dotdot for atmos. The ear level channels and height channels are interchangable, but the subwooofer ones are not. So 7.2 is seven channels (either ear level or height) and 2 subwoofer channels (really its just 1 split..but its marketing to call it .2). So this receiver can do 5.2.2 or 7.2.0. it cannot support 5.1.4 or 7.1.4 (5.1.4 would require a 9.1 receiver, and 7.1.4 would be an 11.1 channel receiver...those exist..but not in this price range).
Damn. I bought my 750h 5 months ago. I cooooould return it. But that's kind of a dick move for a perfectly working item
That's not how it works. People act like they're suddenly entitled to some to something when they pay the tiny annual fee (are you really of the mindset that the pitiful $60 actually covers the loss here?). Do you also act like you can intentionally wreck your cars because you pay for insurance?

If his device had broken 5 months ago and he returned it, that's one thing. But, to go and return it because there's suddenly a different device? "Come on, man." It's literally the reason why they changed the unlimited return policy to 90 days for electronics, because people were grossly taking advantage of it.

Costco needs 9.2 and 11.2 models. They stock all other high end things, why not these...

Does this have two hdmi outputs? It seems like this series doesn't have it....
The Onkyo one at costco not only has 2 hdmi outputs, but they can be set up to be dual zone! It was on sale earlier this year at $350. I love it after figuring out how to enable dual zone. Probably the cheapest 2 HDMI dual-zone atmos receiver out there.

Interested in replacing my older denon AVR-X2100W. Bluetooth / WiFi is spotty and sometimes the front right channel drops out. Need to wiggle the connectors in the back to get it firing again😬😬.
Waiting to buy a ps5 so would love to use it in all its glory. LG OLED CX for a screen.

Good upgrade here ?

I feel like Costco only cares about the wireless systems.
My Costco stores in town only stock like 2 S750H in each store. So sad.

Maybe time has changed. Maybe we, receiver users, are obsolete and being replaced?

Here's hoping they have enough stock to last 2-3 more weeks.

Planning to sign up for a new costco membership in two days (I believe signing up on the 1st will give me 13 months of membership since it expires end of the month the following year). With the current new signup promotion, that should give me $40 off $250 in a few weeks. Planning to purchase this AVR using that coupon. My nearest costco is a 100 miles away, so would hate to make the drive only to find it's not in stock.
FYI the current sign-up promo of 40 off 250 is for online purchases only.

Bought the s750 for $500 at best buy 12 days ago. Will they take a return without the box? I have the receipt. Might have to tell them its not working right.

time to return the yamaha? they never fixing that thing
good thing receivers are not part of the limited electronics return at costco

I did get the yamaha tsr-700 for $330 at costco. So this denon is over $100 more but so far reviews from avsforum are all positive and those with current tsr-700 are all saying its superior.

Maybe ill wait for THIS denon to also go on sale to at least $400 hopefully lower.
So you can return it after 90 days?

Bought the Yamaha TSR-700 and man the HDMI issue is a shitty experience. I'd wait for reviews before buying any receiver until We know port bandwidth

I just bought a another older model Denon recently and returned it as I want to use it in conjunction with Google Assistant. While I could turn it on and off and control volume through Google Assistant, it did not show up as a castable speaker nor was I able to use commands to tell Google to play music from YouTube music on it. Anyone know how to get that to work with the heos app or any other way

Sorry if this is a silly question, but will this unit do 5.1.2?

I absolutely hate having to return the Yamaha. It's all wired up and I personally like the look of it. But the HDMI issue is annoying as heck and I haven't seen any updates. Anyone know anything else about the update?

If I understand correctly, 7.2 only has two channels for sounds above and 9.2 has 4. Don't most people want sounds from above to move left to right and front to back? Having only 2 channels from above seems undesirable and unrealistic, no? Fry's used to have killer deals on Denon 9.2 receivers. So bummed they shut down…

This is the first I've heard of the HDMI problem. It sounds like it sucks a lot. If you buy an AVR that says it can do 4K/120 and 8K/60, it should be able to do it!

I remember when they put an HDMI chip in the PS3 with so much bandwidth that it also supported 3D and HDR even though it came out years before hand.

I feel kind of lost about what to replace my Yamaha RX-V665 that I want to replace A) so I don't have to mess with an HDMI switcher to connect my Chromecast Ultra, AppleTV 4K, and PS5 and B) because the PS5 makes my receiver go nuts when CEC is enabled on the PS5.

Edit: HDMI 1.3 came out in 2006 along with the PS3, yet apparently the PS3 had enough bandwidth to support the stereoscopic 3D feature of HDMI 1.4, which came out three years later in 2009.
