Platinum is supposed to be a premium credit card - has one of the highest annual fees of any CC, and they add a Walmart benefit? I think Amex is confused and really diluting the brand and product

The new Soulcycle benefit that was also added is completely worthless

They diluted their AMEX Deals too. It used to be only a few but they were all very decent. Now its full of junk from tiny retailers that i've never heard of and takes forever to filter through the garbage.

I admit, i will probably use this Walmart deal but i dont thiink the typical AMEX Plat card holder would ever step foot insiide a walmart.

I hope AMEX dont continue going down the shitter.

Wow, talk about out of touch! I know a handful or Platinum card holders (myself included), and none of them would have any qualms with shopping at Walmart.

I have Amex Platinum for more than 5 years and I fly both Biz and First class when travel internationally and I do go in Walmart when I pass by a super store...
In my book Amex is doing everything right.
As long as I can utilize those Amex offers I don't care whether they are shitter small shop or name brand store. Frankly all the Amex offer I got this year has pretty much offset my annual fee.

Sometimes it is just ridiculous that people think that a credit card can make you look better or higher class... I know people flocking to the metal platinum card when it released and I am still using my plastic version.. frankly it just a CARD I dont usually take it out my wallet for more 30 secs why would I want to increase the weigh of my walletLMAO
It's funny cause this is my second metal card (had the united club card years ago).. and I think the metal card is actually a PITA. It makes my purse slightly heavier and I would rather have a plastic card. I just joined the AMEX plat world and did my research before applying and have already "reduced" my annual fee to $119.60 on services I already had (not signing up for anything new - including Walmart+).

Most cards (outside of Sam's Club and Costco) cost $95 and don't include lounge access or discount international business/first class (the only way I travel when I go international 1-2x a year). I also love having gold status at Marriott (and now Hilton).

I'm still learning about some "hidden" benefits but love this card so far.

I'm not sure why anyone would sign up for this card or keep it without doing heavy research throughout the year if it doesn't pay off.

I saw that Walmart was using third-party delivery services that asked for tips. No way I'm going to start tipping for every delivery I receive. Do you tip your Fedex & UPS drivers too?
If you don't tip, pick it up yourself

Do they get paid by Wal-Mart for the shopping? Just trying to understand why someone need to pay tip for a service that they're already paying for
You don't tip Uber eats and pizza delivery?

If you think you're too good to shop at Walmart because you have an Amex plat then just use the delivery option. Of course those people would also be embarrassed for their neighbors to see they bought something from Walmart.

I"m assuming this deal isn't good for the business platinum card but only valid for the personal one.

Correct, but Business Gold gets the Walmart+ perk for some reason.

So, am I getting this right? A bunch of people seeking cheap deals, complaining that Amex is offering this deal because they think they are fancy platinum members, and yet hang out on slickdeals

Walmart isn't for people who make over 6 figs, which is anyone with this card.

You get Paramount+ with the membership as well. Even if you don't walk into a Wal-Mart

Right?! I am glad someone else feels the same way. I didn't want to say this for fear of sounding too boojie. I mean Amex Platinum in the same breath as Walmart Plus? Nah....

Some wealthy people aren't wealthy because they have high incomes. Some are wealthy because they spend their money wisely.
