Deal HistoryÂ
Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
nice price. snagged one from newegg for the same amount a few months back. they changed the model number, but it does say cmr so it should be ok. repped.
This is in fact the lowest this particular hard drive has sold for, it's a good deal for that. But not necessarily a great deal for a 10 TB Nas hard drive. This is roughly the same price of the external hard drives that people open up and find nas quality drives in frequently. (Some keywords for people who would like to learn more: Data Hoarders, drive shucking) I would expect to see those drives somewhere less than $150 this holiday season considering they were $150 last year.
Some amazon reviews says the 3 year warranty didn't apply when bought on amazon? Can anyone confirm?
Would really only get a RED Drive for this price for the 3 year warranty.. if that's not that case, I would rather wait for a 14TB White Shuck-able drive to go back down to that price

I've never had warranty issues with reds purchased on Amazon.

if its sold and shipped by amazon, there ahouldnt be any problems whatsoever. buy, receive, register at wd website.
yeah, looks like its only 15% off now. snagged one at 209 when deal was posted plus tax which is still 20$ less than now. splitted the purchase to 6 payments on amazon cc. better deal than splitting in 4 via paypal which charges every two weeks.

Thanks. Glad I saw this, otherwise I would have missed this deal.
Please note the estimated arrival date is Oct.30 - Nov.1/ So it must be out of stock temporarily but they still allow me to order it. Ordered one.
When I first saw this deal, Amazon showed it as available for same-day delivery. I didn't bite but change my mind. Now it's showing Nov.1 - Nov. 6 for delivery.
check the model number on there (assuming it's a reliable website - I hope it is I just found it using google search ) ... and see if it's a CMR or SMR drive.
The Red Plus version like the one posted here is supposed to be safe but I've done some online research and there are some BITTER complaints (both from user reviews on amazon and more educated "tech-heads" who know about this stuff ) about the (non Red Plus) SMR drives basically being cheaply made, not reliable drives... all the bad hype about SMR scared me right out of purchasing a 2 TB " blue " brand 7200 rpm Western Digital internal sata hard drive that was selling at a great price on amazon. It's possible I'm being paranoid but I figured better safe than sorry.
I'm posting this mainly because WD seems to be putting a lot of it's drives on sale, both the "good" CMR and the " bad " SMR drives.

Newegg also has the 6TB WD Red Plus (CMR) for 115.00. This deal requires a promo code.
