That's just because of the power saving scheme of win10 when on battery. You can change it to be the same as when it's plugged in it will just use more battery
Yeah, but that's how they roll, a fairly aggressive power-saving/throttling scheme, from the factory.
Thanks OP. I grabbed an open box excellent certified for $326. I've been waiting for a good deal on a quality Chromebook. I think this one is supported until 2029 for anyone wondering.

*edit - I just looked and I actually spent $335.
I bought the same thing yesterday , so excited to get it tomorrow. Looks like a solid Chromebook
This thing absolutely SCREAMS using the lowliest of the 11th gen intel processors. Realistically 2C/4T is plenty for the web.
57,000 Octane. Note the magical m1 Macbook aire did something like 62,000k on that test. Coupled with the fast processor, the 8GB of RAM will not let you down.
is the chromebook in that youtube review indeed the same as in this post? The video is about a CX5, whereas the model in this deal is C536EA. That said, I see it's the same specs and looks the exact same, just want to confirm (and curious where the "CX5" comes from?)
edit: I see the reviewer in that video links to the same bestbuy product page, but still curious where the "X" comes from, ha
I need a Chromebook with a Backlit Keyboard that's 11-13". Why is it a backlit keyboard can only come with premium upgrades? The 8GB memory would be nice but I don't need the higher end processor or bigger SSD. I'd like to spend around $300 vs $400/500+. Any recommendations out there?

Not sure how having a Geek Squad member looking at it helps.

I guess Octane is a Linux and Chromebook score. I could not find what this would be with the 11125g4 which is quad core. Anyone know?
However I did find this runs quite a bit faster than the 11125G4. They lowered how fast it ran to support the additional cores so if Octane does not use all four cores it would be slower.
Regardless this is plenty fast enough for a Chromebook. Fat faster than what I thought. Even the Passmark on it is quite good 6700 or so. The single core Passmark is faster on it than the 11125G4.
If this had gone on sell Monday I might have decided to get it. Oh well.
I just ordered the Flex 5 with the 10 gen I3. They have this one in it now but it was far more costly. This should be far faster 30% perhaps. Though doubt it will much matter. I do wonder why people buy these with an I5 or I7. What they do to justify that additional cost.

I buy i7 versions when I can just because. I appreciate what chromebooks do for me that I am willing to buy a flagship every couple of years or so.

An interesting thing with the 1115 is how high the base speed is.

My preference, too. See the HP x360 model (14"), also at BB. Bought one two years ago with gen 8 i3. Around $350 during BF sale. Probably higher now but worth keeping an eye out for. It is a bit on the heavy side.
Still using my Toshiba Chromebook 2 2015 even though it stopped getting updates.
