FYI this kit has 17 metal blades and 3 wood blades. May work for some but if you use your sawzall mainly for cutting wood, look for different blade packages.
Yea, but it's not ideal. It will be a lot slower and sometimes leaves the wood burnt/shiny

Yeah, I've used most of the metal blades in this set to cut wood. You get a cleaner cut as a bonus. I used it quite a bit a few weekends ago to cut 2x4s, each cut took about 5 seconds or so. As long as you're using the whole blade, and not pinching the blade they last quite a while before getting too dull and start burning up the wood.
edit: would use a pruning blade for pruning though, long blades are nice. metal are good for dimensional lumber.

I went with the Diablo set, close to the same price, but more wood blades to metal blades.
Having the right blade for your task makes a huge difference.
Even just for cutting a limb off a tree, the pruning blade vs a standard wood cutting blade goes 5x faster.
Pruning blade is the best kept secret of reciprocating saws. It's like having a tiny chainsaw with none of the associated safety hazards.

Yes, any reciprocating saw made in the last few decades.
