Thanks for the tip. I put a couple things in my cart and will see what happens. I'll finally be into the 40V line if they offer me the 550 cfm blower and trimmer for 50% off the $180 they're asking - that's a no-brainer.

There's also this deal on the frontpage here right now. Drill, battery and charger for $30. Not the best battery at 1.5AH, but a great deal for anybody who wants to use 1 or 2 Ryobi tools and doesn't have any yet.

Exactly how I just got into the 40V line myself as I already have EGO but wanted tool redundancy in case something takes a pooper lol.

SUPER Odd (eBay search) note: if you look up "seller:tools_direct, ryobi" SIGNIFICANTLY less results show up than doing "seller:tools_direct ryobi". (No comma). Typically search engines tend to ignore commas but this one doesn't… super weird IMHO

No charger or battery, tool only. Hard to justify the cost involved if you only want to use one Ryboi One tool. I have a bunch though, and I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to use the same few batteries with any of them. Also nice knowing returns are easy and that they aren't going to scrap the whole battery ecosystem any time soon (unlike some other companies have done with newer lines - looking at you, Craftsman). Check the other posts here if you are unsure the best or cheapest way to acquire a battery as well.

That's a little weird! One thing I do sometimes is check a particular seller's eBay "store." Like if you find something from tools_direct and you want to see everything else they have, click on their store from there. This doesn't help with the initial search but it is another way to find things and should display all of their listings.

Agreed. That's what I sometimes do too but they have a TON of stuff (vanities, lights, sinks, disposals,… you name it) which becomes unbearable to search for without using keywords lol. I started looking at their Milwaukee stuff too but even after the deals still strikes me as being expensive still; so I've been focusing on expanding my Ryobi 18V line, as I'd rather have two Ryobi tools (redundancy) for the price of one Milwaukee tool at the moment… I am open to being convinced otherwise tho… anyone have MTBF or MTTF numbers that suggest Milwaukee are 2x better or more??

Yeah, I'm plenty happy with Ryobi. Just having so many options for one battery ecosystem is a major plus, and everything I've tried has been solid. The handheld inflator died young, and the analog dial was never even close to accurate, but I got $15 of use out of it.

I'd probably go with Milwaukee if I was a contractor and used my tools way more than I do now, but otherwise I see no reason not to stick with Ryobi. I wonder how much of the legendary Milwaukee reputation is just self-sustaining perception, and I'd love to see that data, too. I know they're good, but are they THAT much better?

100% agreed.

Only "bad" experiences with Ryobi: 1) Bluetooth speaker is loud but NOT high quality at all. Loud? Yes. Good? Not so much.

2) the dual function inflator. This guy is so little that he can't do too much, nigh useless which is unfortunate because I was hoping to have a portable version of my air compressors but I think that may have been a little too hopeful. I now have a small portable tank that I can carry where I need to (tires out in the drive, etc).

Those were the only two disappointments so far.. pretty much all the other tools I have are really good or great; which is exactly where I want to be - high value (good products for a low cost)

There is no filter bag but there is a filter inside. If you don't remove it when vacuuming ashes it'll caked the next time you vacuum something wet. Ask me how I know.

Funny, I just got the dual function inflator and it seems okay so far. Haven't used it much yet though, just on two cars and my work truck. The truck is a box truck and it had no trouble getting the tires up to 60 PSI, although it took a minute. I thought about a portable tank, since I have a compressor at home to fill it with, but I wanted something as small as possible. Time will tell.

That drill kit can be had for <$50 brand new from Home Depot on sale. I used to get these kits from ebay when it was a good deal, now, not so much. Every once in awhile a decent deal comes up, but you need to make sure you're getting a decent sized battery. The drill kits usually come with a tiny 1.3ah battery that would barely power my Ryobi vacuum cleaner. The weed trimmer and blower kit I got 6 years ago came with a 2.6ah battery. This wet dry vac probably works best with a 4ah+ battery.
