Each situation is different, but for the most part, kinetic recovery ropes are much better than straps.
this is more like tow strap not for yanking or shock load.

Keeping them out of the sun seems to be the biggest issue here, lo/high temp's dont degrade it but the UV from the sun will.
Without a tag how would you know it's intended use is?
Out of curiosity I wonder how many people making comments have experience pulling towing snatch and grabbing a vehicle. Some of you guys are so scared of a strap breaking you wouldn't be much count if you were really needed. Do you think running a recovery business you have pristine straps or you just do what you need to do to get it done? And when I strap breaks you just get another one. If you go to snatch a vehicle out of a ditch or snow bank or big mud hole you have a good chance you're going to break any strap you're going to buy. Anything along these lines is made for no slack pulling if you need to snatch and grab, all the gimmicky straps out there which say they're designed for it ... they'll eventually break also. They might last once or twice but they'll eventually break. If you need that kind of pull, you either need to get a bigger truck or use something which is really meant for that type of pulling, a winch, pulleys, come-a-longs even.
Unless it's dry rotted or has some form of material embedded in it, it's probably fine. You take the best strap in the world impregnated with a little sand that sand will end up cutting through it. That oil helped stop it from dry rotting and from getting material in it which would reduce its strength from the inside out. If you break a strap just go buy another one It's not like it's going to kill you ... Unless you're doing it wrong. But ... I have seen people crawl under a car with nothing but a jack holding it up I guess anything is possible.
That being said "Vehicle weight" rating is not a conventional way to quantify a piece of rigging, chain or strap. Working load and break strength is. Seems that is what they are trying to imply? I'd still buy this if I didn't already have quite a few other ones. I'm not doing this for a living and don't need it for routine off road recovery. I can say without a doubt, I've used FAR WORSE than this straps ratings to pull things back on the road and out of holes.... I had someone pull me a few miles up a snow covered mountain road when I was ill prepared for the snow. He used a $7 poly "tow rope" with metal hooks I had tossed in my spare tire well for emergencies.
Exactly. We've even had guys try the blue jean jacket thing like you see in the old advertisements. Spoiler alert .... they rip.
If you were stuck in the right situation You won't care what you're being pulled out by you just thank God you had it.

But it's so cool when it goes through the back windshield of your truck. No I agree I've seen back windshield smashed when cables and chains broke but not once if they had any sort of dampener.
What do you do that you just happen to constantly be around Home Depot customers that just happen to need recovery, enough times that you can definitively say you've seen this exact strap break many times?
I know one thing he's doing a lot of ... Using straps wrong. I've seen guys break a whole lot of things that shouldn't break ... NOT covered under manufacturer's warranty if you used improperly ... Yes this statement is for you.
You guys be careful, don't get your shoes dirty. If you look up underneath your truck there you got a spot on your shock. You might need to polish that.
I've done a few hi lift jack winching and come-a-long. Inch by inch. I have far more uses for those not car pulling but it is an option.
Nobody cares. Are you that lonely that you spammed a comment thread about pulling straps on a Saturday?
Awww did somebody make you cry? Give me a second I'll tell your mom she needs to leave because you might need her at home.
From your time stamp it looks like you're the one sitting home. Don't worry she'll be right there. It'll take a little while she's walking a bit weird.

Very creative, You must be popular with the 5th graders. If you work on your material a bit more you can start working the middle school cafeteria on Fridays.😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
