The one at Walmart is the 1115g4 model, so it's a downgrade compared to this one.

What?
I asked if there were any Ryzen deals because they run cooler. Deleted my comment not to thread-steal.

Since the mass switch to SSDs in most laptops, I'm facing storage issues (a laptop like this would have had a 1TB HDD a year or two ago). I wonder how everyone else is faring….I assume a lot of folks are switching to cloud storage but I always find that a miserable experience, and most problematic at the most important times.

Low end laptops are so much more usable since the switch to ssd/nvme drives. Processors have been good enough for general tasks for a long time.

Specs for HP Laptop 15-dy2035tg. Looks like it can take up to 32 GB of memory (2x16GB).
Target description says 1 ram slot

Both the memory and HD are upgradable... With Black Friday deals coming you should be able to snag 1TB for $70-$80, and 16gb RAM for about the same... Not sure what a similar laptop with those upgrades already in the core specs would cost ..?

This unit is probably not IPS. Also the Walmart 279 recent was 14" which is often more expensive than 15.6.

Meant how Intels used to be the sought after due to better thermal specs and now it is the amd cpus which are better
