IronWolf drives are awesome, and the go-to drives for people running centers

Can't justify the price for a home setup lol
14tb Seagate external drives are even better. They contain exos Enterprise drives.

Stopped at bb for recycle and save. None of employee knows the promo and no help. Haha i didnt expect it would be smooth but what a company and staff
Just went up to pick up my 2 drives that I ordered and brought 1 drive to hand in for recycling. There was 1 girl waiting the registers. She said said she needed to talk to another women. The other women came over and looked at the screenshot I had on my phone of the recycling plan. She looked lost. She told me she would be with me after she finished with another person. She finished and went in the back and never came back out. Waited a total of 25 minutes and at that point the line was so long that I left. What a joke.

Backblaze used to issue quarterly hard drive reliability/failure reports. I haven't checked if they still do that, last I was browsing them was when word first broke about WD putting red label drives in the 8TB EasyStores

Are these drives a good option to use as storage for my home Plex server running on a Raspberry Pi 4?

Traded in a hard drive and got an additional 15% off. $170 before tax out the door. Additional 10% off chase offer for Best Buy brings this down to $153 not including tax!

Best Buy employee has to click recycle and and save and go through the process. Later there is a part where they can click landline, that is where the coupon is hidden!

When I went to get mine earlier today, the girl at the customer service desk had no idea about where to find the coupon, either. She said 3 people before me had come in to do the same and that they'd just take the 15% off at the register.

Girl at the store pickup desk rolled her eyes and said it's under "other" wherever in the system they go to do these things. She printed off the coupon right there.

They couldn't apply the coupon to my store pickup order, though, so they had to cancel it and let me buy at the desk. I didn't have any Chase or Amex offers to go with my online order, so it wasn't a big deal for me. Just a heads up for folks who ordered online but want to do the storage recycling coupon.

Also, FYI, the one-time-use coupon is tied to your phone number, so you can do this with multiple orders (though probably best at different stores or different times of the day).

I still think these will drop to $190 around or at BF, but probably from another retailer...but the 15% storage coupon makes this with the purchase at BB since it drops the price to $169.99 assuming you have something to trade in. We have a ton of dead drives at work that we're just waiting to be picked up for recycling, so I just grabbed one of those.

I bought 4 of them just fine... 2x separate orders
well, yeah of course I could hack the system and create another bestbuy account, but I was going to go ahead and adhere to their intended terms LOL.

-edit-
My bad, I didn't realize I could place multiple orders on the same account. I am used to them blocking additional orders after the limit is reached.

Fact is 14tb Seagate external drives are faster (7200rpm) and contain Enterprise drives.

WD 5400rpm are very very slow. I have both WD and Seagate drives running in my server. Transfer speed is below 100m/s for WD, while Seagate is over 200m/s. Transferring 100gb of data or more from nvme drives.

this is a common customer service trick that they do when they dont want to deal with a customer. they put you on hold until you give up and leave or hang up the phone.
