Hmmm, get this or wait until the 15th and get the 55" Roku version from Costco for $80 more (plus 5 year warranty)…decisions
If $400-500 TVs are lasting you only 2 years then it may be poor luck and you picked a bad model or you may be too rough or careless with TVs. A little research should help with the first part and thinking about what's causing the damage so often for the latter.

I can't speak of HiSense's track record so I am not saying you're wrong about this specific brand or series. However, I wouldn't agree with your general advice about TVs in this price range. And of course longevity reviews are rare to find.
RTINGS gives this TV very high marks. Outstanding consumer reviews. Only negative seems to be off angle viewing.

Ok. Ill refute this somewhat. I have a Mitsubishi 75 inch TV LCD before they got out of the business. Got it for a great price when these size screens were still pricey. ts 1080P not 4K. I keep saying ill upgrade next yr to a 4K etc. This is old in the tooth. But other than a bulb going out every few years (that is cheap on Amazon) the damn thing has a good picture. I have an ancient Panasonic Plasma TV 1080P. That one still has a great picture.
The last TV I had that broke was as a Sony HDTV which at the time was a 4000+ TV. If a customer gets few yrs out of a $400 TV I would say thats pretty good regardless.
I'm actually still using my Mitsubishi 57" DLP 1080P TV from 2007 as my main TV and the picture is still fantastic. Guess Mitsubishi TVs were built to last.

That said, I decided this is the TV for my home gym and can't wait to finally be able to watch something while lifting Applause

For those with Discover cards there are two more opportunities to get this TV cheaper: 1.) Take advantage of the paying with cashback promo if you have it (https://slickdeals.net/f/15368836-targeted-credit-cardholder-discounts-at-amazon-pay-with-discover-cashback-get-up-to-40-off-more?src=SiteSearch) and 2.) The current quarter gives 5% more cashback for using Discover card at Amazon

Definitely read this before buying a Hisense TV.

And lol, no, this TV is not equivalent to the TCL 6 series.

People will find fault in anything are usually the ones making the most noise. Its like someone saying don't buy this or that because someone posted online they had a horrible experience. The problem with the internet and social media, its gives too many people the ability to whine and complain about everything. Do you're research and get what you believe is best for you. Best Buy is accepting returns until the 16th of January which will give the consumer plenty of time to see if there purchase was the right choice.

Local Costco already had it on sale for 499$. For me it was worth spending the $ since I needed a TV now and it had EARC for my soundbar.

A thing about any reviews or rating to always keep in mind, and it rarely is, is longevity and it's associated quality control of the product.

Yes, this tv is AMAZING out the box. I had the 65" version and was blown away. But three days in I saw the screen flicker 3 times in a row. Some of you may not see that or any problems for even a year or more. But the PROBABILITY of this budget set giving you problems down the road is higher than a brand name. If you have the budget invest in something that you know will last you years. A thousand dollar tv that lasts you 5 years is ultimately cheaper than a five hundred dollar tv that lasts you two. Not saying that this TVs life span is two years. Only pointing out the fact that that is almost never considered in reviews and ratings.

That being said, this has one of the best PQ I have seen in a budget tv.

The problem with a 1K priced name brand and I've seen it happen is that it can also go bad just like a budget set. I'd rather gamble on 400 than a 1k set. It didn't happen to me but my brother and a friend both had samsungs and they went bad. I've bought TCL's and hisense and none have gone bad so far. Just my 2 cents.

Is this decent for a monitor for work? Or wait for more LG C1 deals (I know more expensive but debating between ULED and OLED for pc / work usage)
