My suggestions:
QC 35: For best comfort, longer use, price, overall good sound and ANC and simple app/modes.
Sony XM4s: For a bit better ANC, sound and app features/customization.
Airpods: For apple ecosystem, some extra sound features and for flex.
Personally, I tend to use Bose way more often just because of the comfort, can't be beat. Sony is my second preference with better ANC or sound at times. Airpods are not comfortable for long use, hurts my head/ears, but everyone has different head and ears, so to each its own. It was a good flex show for a while but then I gave them away as gift.
No comments on the case they come in, because F apple for that stupidest thing ever.
Don't try to do price match with Target online order, their system has some limitation and will apply your 5% within the price match. Therefore you're not getting the additional Red Card savings. Recently I experienced it with the magic keyboard so I cancel that order.
I was told return policy is 14 days for the Apple Care. The Headphone can be returned by 1/9/22. Buy now and do not open. Wait until 11/15 when Costco has $50 off (Current price is $489.99) if it goes lower to match Sam's Club $429.98 today. It could be $380. Holding out and see what Costco will do.

Did the same. Applied BB rewards also. Used the chat feature on the BB app. Easy.
spatial audio is pretty crazy sometimes. i have to remove my headphones just to make sure the sound is coming from the headphones and not my laptop. i don't think some of my co-workers would appreciate ice cube's music.
anything apple that's discounted is a good deal IMO as they rarely go on sale. are they worth it? that's up to you.

The QC35 (both I and II) also had microphone issues, but otherwise, its build quality, noise cancellation, and overall package was just phenomenal. Currently, Bose are selling QC35 for $199 and except for no USB-C port, there is every reason to still go for QC35 (even after so many years) than the new QC45. If Bose had launched QC45 for $249, then yes. That is a fair price point when compared with their flagship 700 NC. At $329, it feels like I am asked to pay $130 for a USB-C port over the QC35.
If you have to have Bose, I suggest getting their 700 NC headphones for its excellent noise cancellation, intuitive touch controls, great phone call quality, typical Bose sound stage (if you are a fan - many aren't but that's subjective), and while the mechanism to extend the headband is a bit annoying, it's a great package overall. You can find the 700 NC refurbished or on sale periodically. Bose also offers a USB-A dongle to improve range and connectivity when connected to a desktop computer / mac with 700 NC. The dongle is overpriced, but it's available.
If you've got all Apple products, AirPods Max are really good except that they do not have a button to mute when on calls - a very big dealbreaker for me at least, but I have come to terms with it.

Having tried out all three, I had nearly the same experience. Went from Bose to Sony to Apple and now I'm going back to Bose for comfort.
I will add that spatial audio with the Apple TV is pretty awesome, but the AirPods Pro can do that too and are way more comfortable to wear for the length of a movie.
