Basically, your eyes are not flat - they're rounded, so having the curve helps brings more of the monitor into your field of view without needing to move or strain your eyes (which happens has a reflex even if you don't intentionally do it) to see what's on the screen because the curve brings more of the image into a narrower field of view.
A curved monitor isn't going to solve every problem, and the larger the monitor the more you will need to move or strain your eyes to see it (for example, you're never going to have the entirety of a 49" curved monitor into your field of view), but it's almost always going to be easier on your eyes than a flat monitor will be.
I went from a flat 27" to a curved 34" ultrawide several years back as my primary productivity monitor (mostly office applications, word processing, etc.) and while I wasn't having any serious issues with the 27", within a day or two I noticed a considerable relief from eye strain and headaches and have never looked back.

The choices on SD right now for a larger monitor seem to come down to:
This 34" flat Samsung for $249
The 35" curved Monoprice for $300
The 31.5" Acer curved Acer for $230
(The 34" dell for $450 is a bit more than I want to spend)
I believe they're all VA 2k panels. I've never had a curved monitor so I'm not sure if I would prefer it or not. Since I never game I'm not really sure how much the refresh rate and response time really matter. The stand doesn't matter because I'm going to hang it on a VESA arm next to my vertical 28".
I'm looking for the most comfortable, best looking monitor to sit at and work/code for 8-10 hours a day. Opinions on the best of these 3? Or, if I should wait the two weeks for Black Friday and what I should look for? Thx

Nvidia has support for some freesync monitors and you can turn it on for the unsupported. They call them G-Sync compatible but.... They've just made a translation layer between their software and the API for freesync. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/gefo...ors/specs/
Does anyone know what Walmart's return policy would be for a monitor like this
Yea I don't see a big difference if you are using the right resolution. If your on a laptop that doesn't support the resolution and your on a smaller resolution, the larger sized curved windows are a bit annoying but still totally useable.

Samsung does have an inbuilt option to split the screen with two inputs simultaneously being fed. If you want the work with a single source and split the screen real estate "DisplayFusion" is the way to go.
