Basically, your eyes are not flat - they're rounded, so having the curve helps brings more of the monitor into your field of view without needing to move or strain your eyes (which happens has a reflex even if you don't intentionally do it) to see what's on the screen because the curve brings more of the image into a narrower field of view.
A curved monitor isn't going to solve every problem, and the larger the monitor the more you will need to move or strain your eyes to see it (for example, you're never going to have the entirety of a 49" curved monitor into your field of view), but it's almost always going to be easier on your eyes than a flat monitor will be.
I went from a flat 27" to a curved 34" ultrawide several years back as my primary productivity monitor (mostly office applications, word processing, etc.) and while I wasn't having any serious issues with the 27", within a day or two I noticed a considerable relief from eye strain and headaches and have never looked back.

I have toyed around with the idea of ditching the flanking monitors as they can sometimes be distracting and just using one... with the virtual desktops setup I could probably get away with it as long as it was a monitor like this.
I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not lol. What's a usual price for an ultrawide like this?
This is it, slickdeals will only allow me to upload 1 pic at a time
This is a decent price for 34" @ 1440p. But given its not curved, like many I will pass too.
I have an LG 34" 1080p non curved that I bought just over a year ago for about the same price.

What's expectations for a good BF deal 34" curved?? $250?
Does anyone know what Walmart's return policy would be for a monitor like this

Anyway framerate and ultrawide are two different gpu consumers, some might value one over the other, everyone is different. For me I'd rather have ultrawide at 75fps than standard wide screen at 120fps. But again everyone is different.
And then there is the production side which this thing is the winner hands down over the one you posted.

I think the need for a curve on this monitor isn't needed but it's a personal preference. Before I got this one I checked out a few curved ones at microcenter and I really didn't like them. Maybe there is a adjustment period but for me it felt unnatural
