On large ultrawide monitors, the curve helps significant reduce eye strain / eye fatigue. If you Google around, there have been several studies done that confirm this (some more scientific / precise than others, but almost all conclude the same thing).

Basically, your eyes are not flat - they're rounded, so having the curve helps brings more of the monitor into your field of view without needing to move or strain your eyes (which happens has a reflex even if you don't intentionally do it) to see what's on the screen because the curve brings more of the image into a narrower field of view.

A curved monitor isn't going to solve every problem, and the larger the monitor the more you will need to move or strain your eyes to see it (for example, you're never going to have the entirety of a 49" curved monitor into your field of view), but it's almost always going to be easier on your eyes than a flat monitor will be.

I went from a flat 27" to a curved 34" ultrawide several years back as my primary productivity monitor (mostly office applications, word processing, etc.) and while I wasn't having any serious issues with the 27", within a day or two I noticed a considerable relief from eye strain and headaches and have never looked back.
That sounds opposite... Usually the bigger the monitor, the more people like the curve.
From my research if you game you want a curve. If you work and do photo & video editing you don't necessarily want a curve.

It's just better with a curve.

I got this model from Costco about.... 3 months ago? Absolutely no complaints. Ok, one gripe. My 1060 Super can't really drive games at that resolution. It's freesync and works with Nvidia's freesync support. It's mostly used for software development and I might be having some neck strain but it's no worse than would be with 2 27's. If I could go back I'd have gotten a curved screen just to see if it reduced neck strain. However, the curved screens are hella deep and nearly twice as much.

Does this Monitor allow Picture By Picture

I was pretty sure but checked just now for you. Yes it supports picture by picture (aka side by side) and picture in picture on all four corners.

Curve give you a sense of immersion on games with good UI implementation you really don't need the curve but like most things it's a personal preference

Thanks for the detail response!!
I am looking to get 2 new monitors mainly for daily work and a good amount of daily trading.
Should I go for two 27s curves or 32s? I would prefer to be able to mount and stack horizontal side by side.
I do have a Samsung curve TV and I absolutely love it, I saw a big difference when I switched from regular to curve..

What about using this monitor for Excel sheets? Pros/cons? Eye strain it not being curved for spread sheets?

Thanks!

I use this monitor for my day job as a software developer. It's great to have all that real estate for when you really need it. I will confess that most of the time I run this monitor in 2560x1440 resolution... which gives you the same amount of screen real estate as a 27inch monitor at 2560x1440 (I have measured it and also have a 27in 2560x1440 as a secondary monitor.

At 3440x1440 there is some slight eye-strain while at about 1.5-2ft sitting distance away looking at dead center and then scanning to the edges right/left for information.. such as the clock/notifications/etc ... of course in the standard taskbar on the bottom layout which you can change/optimize.

I've owned this LS34J552WQNXZA for about 7 months now. I do enjoy it and intend to keep it.

Feel free to ask any questions =)

I doubt that one was the same as this one. There is a model very similar to this that is 2560x1080. It's probably that one.

It's the same one, same model number . Was originally $399, then $279, they cleared them out last week for $150. Still $279 in my area. I'll see if I can post a picture of my receipt and box when I get home.

Viewing angle and neck strain, if you are sitting closer to the monitor

I use this monitor for work and the extra horizontal real estate is very nice for sheets with a lot of columns.

You are thinking of TN panels. VA panels are fine for off angle color accuracy.

Yes and no. Many VA panels have better off angle color than TN panels, but nothing beats IPS panels in that department.

Samsung's VA panels are different than most VA panels.
