These coffee pod things are stupidest thing. In a time when everyone is so concerned about the environment to the point where were not supposed to use plastic straws these single use plastic coffee pods have become the new standard???

When I used a Keurig I only bought San Francisco bay pods or similar because they were 99% compostable... Recently my wife and I got the ninja hot and cold brewer which is amazing and we just grind our own beans and can still do single cups

Thanks OP. My previous model broke and I have enough pods to justify this one.

Not just that. The coffee is awful. Nespresso, Keurig, whatever. It's horrible quality at a premium price. Get a grinder and a pourover and you'll be set.

I used to use a Breville Espresso machine and switched to a Keurig. It may not be the best, but you can't beat the convenience. I'll take the Keurig any day.

I purchased one a while back. The coffee is better than Nespresso, but the pods can be hard to find and expensive at certain times. It is a lot quieter than my Nespresso.

Love ours, previous model though. No comparison to a Keurig.

Quick first impressions review:

I bought this last week to try and upgrade my parents old senseo machine. They love that thing. Find the 30% off coupon and also stacked Amex 50% Amazon purchase (mistake).

The machine gets here, I unbox, read the manuals (yes, I love manuals), and start setting it up. They ask that you flush hot water through its first cycle and all goes well.

I put in the first pod, close the lid, add filtered water, and press the lungo. Nothing.

Ok, well, user error, right? I push the water tank further down and try again. Lungo. Only a small amount of coffee comes through. I think that's weird since I watched videos and all. Should be more. I am a new pod and try espresso this time. Same thing.

Odd. So I open the pod chamber that holds the spent pods, and viola. All the water. It was either not being pushed through, or didn't make the spout after being pushed through pod.

Mind you, I probably got a lemon. But idk. Maybe they have this issue. The lungo and espresso that were able to come out correctly were extremely bitter and just not good.

I wanted to love this machine for my parents, but I'm returning it. Learned to never use an Amex promo on something you don't love already.

Cheers!

Is a pour over a french press? Can you make espresso in it? I thought espresso had to have pressure?
