I have this machine. It brews good coffee. The machine is starting to fail. It's getting clogged when brewing (yes, I have cleaned it out with vinegar). I'd buy a k-cup machine, using reusable cups. I have one and it's just easier, without having to boil water to make an Americano. The kcup coffee is much cheaper. These blue pods keep going up in price. They are over $50 for 100. There are only Lavazza pods too, blue lavazza is not an open platform. Good luck. That being said, this is a good price.

I agree with most of what you have said, but let me add a few points. The Lavazza BLUE system is capsule espresso, not coffee the way most people think of coffee. Espresso means 1 to 3 oz shots of rich coffee extracted under pressure with hot water. If you want only Americanos (shots of espresso with hot water added to make a 6 to 8 oz cup of regular coffee), or you primarily drink drip coffee, you don't want to buy this machine. You are, by far, better off with a Keurig if you want a large mug of individual serve coffee. The BLUE/Expert coffee system is for people that want quick and easy espresso, and milk based espresso drinks such as latte, cappuccino, macchiato, etc.

I listed this deal because it's a good price, but I have to admit the more advanced Lavazza Classy Plus is a much better machine. It was also on sale for $107, but it is no longer. This Classy Mini would be good if space is a premium such as in a dorm, a cabin, or if you expect lighter more infrequent use. For example, if you don't drink coffee but have guests that do. Lavazza BLUE capsules are hermetically sealed and have an amazingly long shelf life. That said, If you're looking for your primary everyday coffee fix/solution, I would choose something else. That doesn't mean the BLUE system isn't good, it is the best capsule espresso out there, but there are far better options than using proprietary capsules.

As far as prices go, Lavazza BLUE and Expert prices have gone up, but not extraordinarily so. No more than any other brand, and even at 50¢ they are still cheaper than real Nespresso capsules. There are several sub 50¢ per capsule offers right now, additionally, I never buy unless they are on sale at around 40¢ per capsule. They still do go on sale all the time, you just have to watch for deals. Lastly, there "are" several third party capsule makers, Bristot, Delicitaly, Dongio Caffe (there used to be more, Kimbo was the best). The only problem is, they aren't very good, except for Bristot. Bristot is the best alternative I've found, but they're 60¢ each and I still prefer real Lavazza brand capsules overall.
