Currently the Classy Plus is about $100 more ($230 less a 25% coupon) than the Classy Mini at Amazon.

The original Lavazza espresso machines and 100 pod packs were originally targeted toward offices and small store/coffee shops. It wasn't till many of us on SD became acquainted with the Lavazza Blue pods many years ago when there was a fantastic $50 deal on the Lavazza Blue LB 910. But that machine was huge compared to our Nespresso machines. Nevertheless many of us gave it a try and learned to appreciate the more intense and bold espresso flavor from the Blue pods which hold more coffee per pod than the Nespresso pods. And now there are the Lavazza Classy models which are only a little larger than the Nespresso machines.

Incidentally I have all the frothers necessary if I wanted to make some of the fancier coffee drinks. But I have never used them as I prefer a stronger espresso coffee. So if you don't require the fancier coffee drinks, save yourself $100 and go for the basic Lavazza LB 300. My former LB 910 was given to my father who had the counter space for the larger machine and I have always wanted a smaller machine for my limited office space (which is now occupied by my Nespresso machine). Hopefully if many more individuals go for the Classy models, Lavazza will expand their coffee selections to more varieties, smaller quantities, and more retail outlets.

Nice review of some of the Lavazza Blue/Expert pods available for the Lavazza Blue espresso machines. For those who have complained about how the Blue pods are only available in 100 pod packs, the Expert line is available in smaller quantities (though this also results in a higher cost per pod).

Note that this is not a review of Lavazza vs Nespresso pods. That is a subjective issue which is debated in several other web sites which you can Google. My personal preference is for the Lavazza Blue pods as I like strong espresso, but naturally YMMV. It's also interesting to note that a standard Lavazza pod holds 7.5 grams of coffee vs the 5 grams in the stand Nespresso pod. While this doesn't sound like much, it does mean that the Lavazza pod hold 50% more coffee than the Nespresso pod which is important if you like strong, intense espresso.

So here is a review of just the Lavazza Blue and Expert pods:

I ordered the Lavazza Expert Coffee Bundle Classy Plus All-In-One Machine LB 400 + 1 Welcome Kit Pack of 36 Mixed Capsules + 1 Extra Vessel for about $200. $250 - 25% off.

When this was $15 a couple months ago, that was an amazing deal. This is good and a fair price for the machine. I just wish Lavazza switched to the netting type K Cup like that Hawaii coffee or other brands. Less plastic being heated is a good thing.

That was a price mistake by Amazon. Most had their orders canceled.
