Similar to the Newegg deal, looks like BestBuy dropped their price for anyone preferring that route or who have bought it recently to get a price adjustment.

That's an older/ slower model
You can buy and install a heat sink yourself. They are like 10-15 bucks on Amazon. It's a very easy install.
They did say yes, so went in store, brough a 8gb Usb 2.0 flash drive for recycling, they did a return of the online order and did a new ring up right then and there with the printed coupon of 15%.
$127 cant beat that price for a pcie 4.0 1tb drive
For those who have a similar situation as i, its still possible to do.
the enclosure's max speed is 2800 assuming due to tb3...does that mean that this setup would be a waste?
comparing to https://www.bhphotovide
Model: WDBAPY0010BNC-WRSN SKU: 6425636 for $177.99 and
Model: WDBAUY0010BNC-WRSN SKU: 6425635 for $149.99
There has to be a reason? Is one a Best Buy only sku?
No difference if you got gen 4. But they won't price match because different models.
WDBAUY0010BNC is a bare SSD drive sold without any pre-installed software. Whereas, WDBAPY0010BNC is not bare and backward compatible with PCIe Gen3 x2, PCIe Gen3 x1, PCIe Gen2 x4, PCIe Gen2 x2, and PCIe Gen2 x1
Edit: Nope, wrong again. That's what the store associate told me why it cost more since that's the one he grabbed first. Seems according to the questions and answers for the drive the difference is pre-installed software on the more expensive version. No idea what software that is.
"Best Buy is known to get specific model numbers in SSDs that they only sell (so as not to have to price match).
I don't know what software would come preinstalled on the drive, and pretty much all the PCIe 4.0 drives I've seen listed are all backwards compatible with past revisions (e.g. PCIe 3.0, 2.0, etc.). So to me it appears that whoever typed that answer you referenced simply didn't know what they were talking about (or weren't allowed to say it was a Best Buy specific model for price-matching reasons).
I doubt there is any difference in speeds (or anything else) between the two different versions."
In addition to BB not having to price match or other retailers price match against them, but also for return fraud reasons. Can't buy from another retailer and return it to BB.
"Best Buy frequently has tech companies create proprietary model numbers so they do not have to price match the same product at other retailers. I have seen no evidence WD is making multiple hardware revisions with different specification."
